Hello people of the forums! :hi2:

I have recently being considering buying a Alienware M11x R1 for the purpose of gaming on the go. I found a relatively cheap one for £170 and I'm curious to know whether it could play games such as Minecraft or War Thunder and if so, at what FPS? The reviews of read seems to say the processor is a limiting factor, but how bad really is it when it comes too gaming? Does it still hold up after all this time?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Shoota :hi2:

    Recommended Hardware for-

    Minecraft:
CPU: Intel Core i3 or AMD Athlon II (K10) 2.8 GHz
    RAM: 4GB
GPU: GeForce 2xx Series or AMD Radeon HD 5xxx Series (Excluding Integrated Chipsets) with OpenGL 3.3

    War Thunder:
    CPU: dual-core 2,4 GHz
    RAM: 4 Gb
Videocard: Nvidia GeForce 460 or higher
    Free space: 9.5 Gb
(These numbers are taken from their official website)

Well, judging by the System Requirements for both games, I can say that you will be able to run both of those games with at least +30 Frames per Second. I've seen M11x's with an i5 processor that runs both heavier games like a charm.
Just make sure you have a decent video card and you will be fine. **PLEASE NOTE: The Video card is welded into the motherboard**

The r1 can run alot of games that spec wise, it shouldnt be able to at all.

Allot of games will tell you before you try to launch it if it will even run.
But my m11xr1 has taken everything I have put to it.

Has anyone tried Windows 8.1 on the M11x R1? Does everything work?

I have tried windows 8 and didn't like it at all, others may love it. It will never be on my M11x.

You can use some of the Windows 7 drivers.
