Hello Everyone. Well after a year and 2 months having my R1, I think I have got the guts to expend 200-300 dllrs on an SSD.
So the question is simple, which SSD you recommend me to buy? Keeping in mind that the only method I can buy one its from ebay plus the money I will have to spend of shipping (That most of the articles of ebay have the fee of paying 45 dllrs from EUA to Mexico only of shipping). I was thinking on buying OCZ vertex 2, but I'm a little scared because i have heard that the quality is super bad.
Any sugestions ?
Thanks![]()

Maybe you can snatch up one of those 160GB Intel SSDs.
-
Wow, that was fast
. I was thinking about the Intel x25m, but from ebay, with shipping and everything, it cost around 320 dllrs new. And at the moment all I got are 300 dllrs.
Or what kind of Intel SSD are you talking about o.0? -
INTEL X25-M 160GB SSD SSDSA2MH160G101 OEM BOX NEW | eBay <- what about this one?
-
Wow, it should be listed recently. Thanks probably I will buy this one
-
I wouldn't buy that. It is the first generation version. If you want an X25-M, get the G2 second generation.
-
Then, it would be better to get the OCZ vertex 2 over the intel x25m gen1 ? Because the gen2 its a way more expensive and I cant affod that (At least the prices of ebay)
-
OCZ Vertex 2 is a good option if in budget yes.
-
Have you ever had any problems with it ? Or you can say it has a very nice build quality and you have had zero issues with it
?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So at the moment this are my 5 options:
Intel 320: Intel 320 Series 120GB G3 SSDSA2CW120G310 SSD | eBay
Intel x25m (Gen1 ): INTEL X25-M 160GB SSD SSDSA2MH160G101 OEM BOX NEW | eBay
Crucial C300: Crucial CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 RealSSD C300 2.5" 128GB SSD | eBay
Kingston Now V: Kingston SSDNow V+ SNVP325-S2/128GB 2.5" SATA II SSD | eBay
Vertex 2: OCZ Vertex 2 Extended 120GB 2.5IN SATA2 Disk Drive New | eBay
Which one would give me a better performance and will last longer without giving me problems (Better build quality)?
any other SSDs please let me know
EDIT: * I have seen that most of the people recommend Crucial c300 or Intel x25m/320 * -
Sorry, my bad. I didn't realize that.
-
Out of those I'd go for the Crucial, my Vertex has been fine but many others have had problems with them.
-
I recommend the Samsung 470 if it's available to you. It's reliable and has excellent performance and battery life
-
Maybe not the newest kid on the block, but the Seagate Momentus XT 500GB SSD Hybrid 7200 RPM drive still gives you value for money.
-
Well, thanks for letting me know
. I will consider your opinion (Anyways, it is one of the most popular ones i have seen )
When i made the list, I was looking for that one on ebay, and no luck. The only 2-3 available are over my price/ do not ship to mexico/ its smaller than 120 gigs. Anyways thanks for the recommendation
I dont want to sound agresive but, for some reason that SSD-HDD dont give me the security of buying it. Anyways thanks for letting me know about this drive. I'm sure that probably my bro would like to upgrade his pc with this Driver, especially because its cheap

Those drives are really nice but even though providing a decent boost over a standard mechanical drive they aren't anywhere near in the same league as SSD's (Even the slowest).
