Hello everyone :), I will get the m11x soon (supposedly tomorrow  ) and i will want/need to have an external CD/DVD burner drive.
Anyone here that can recommend me one (no more than 90$(dllrs)), i was thinking on buying one of this ones: Asus SDRW-08D1S-U or LG GE20LU11.
(Preferable if you can tell me of CD/DVDs burners that i can find on BestBuy, Target, or Walmart)
BTW, 2 more things, How does the internal Bluetooth on the m11x works(Im planing on buying the Razer orochi and i will almost always use it on wireless mode...Or Razer Naga)? And, what antivirus are you using on your m11x (Mine will came with 15 months of McAfee)? :D

I know you said 90 or less but the asus blu-ray external (new) is outstanding! It comes with powerdvd 9 which is pretty good... Avatar looks outstanding...
    $160.00
The asus you listed above is nice for a standard dvd rom, but you will need some decent software to get the most from your dvd hardware.

Recently picked up a USB powered Targus DVD drive (not writer, just read) for $40 free shipping. Works well, VLC player plays my DVD's without any issue. I didn't want to get something intensive--I don't plan on using the drive regularly, but just installing some software and watching a movie here and there.

Price went up a little bit, but no tax/free shipping still.

I have an LG GP08 CD/DVD player/writer. Works well and comes with Nero, powerDVD and LightScribe.
Avatar looks OK on DVD if you don't have a BD player.
Already have powerDVD8 pre-installed on my M11x so I just use that.
However as noted by stevenxowens792 the ASUS blu-ray external (new) is probably the best option as you'll probably require a BD reader at some stage anyway.

@Neil, m11x plays blu-rays fine... Several of us have external bd-rom drives. I utilize powerdvd9 and I purchased TMT3 for $62 dollars on sale. Let's put it this way, the m11x has 2 hi-def capable video cards for blu-ray. I have tested both! And the cpu is plenty. At maximum I get 20 percent cpu utilization. The GPU has around 10 percent utilization. This is utilizing the "USE DEDICATED HARDWARE" for video playback...

It took me a while to figure out when you have a problem, it is usually the software causing an issue... loading Java for menu's and so forth.

not sure if anyone will ever see this but...I just ordered the Asus blu ray from Amazon and am wondering if I can hook it up to my m11x, then hdmi out to my plasma. I assume I will be able to do this because who wants to watch blu ray on a tiny screen/not in 1080p.

Mine was a bundled retail setup to include the Dell "brand" external drive. Likely the same one available during online purchase.

Not really watching movies but normal tasks and DVD authoring seems ok

BT has been smooth for me. I transfer files from phone and have an external mouse I use (logitech) and no issues. Have NOT tried any other devices

Has anyone tried the cheaper external CD drives? I don't have a lot of money :X
Will this work with the M11X?
Amazon.com: NEW Slim USB 2.0 External Slim USB 2.0 CD-ROM Drive for all Laptop notebook: Electronics
    OR
Amazon.com: 24x USB External CD-ROM CDROM Drive for Alienware M11x: Electronics

I only need an external CD ROM to install Black Ops x] I don't want to purchase it through steam because it took me over 7 hours to download MW2.

    Out of Topic:
I ordered my M11X last Thursday. How long did it take for your M11X to be delivered? I can't wait : D
