Everytime I close the display on my laptop the next time I turn it on I notice these lines on the left side of the LCD at first I thought I somehow spit on my LCD when I talked but later realized its happening from the keys on the keyboard I assume touching the LCD and leaving oil from my fingers on the LCD..... Anyone else notice or have this problem that has a M11x? This is VERY annoying and I am already getting the LCD replaced because some sort of debris is in between my LCD screen and I cant get it off.

yes the oil from they keyboard can show up on the screen, they touch when its closed it happens on mine too, and any other laptop. just wipe it off. has nothing to do with debris in your screen, not like the oil seeps through the glass

What bothers me is that it only happens on one half of the screen, if you turn your screen off and shine a light on it or just look at it at the right angle you can see the outline of the entire left side of the keyboard. I don't want to have to pull out a LCD wipe and spray every single time I open the laptop if it cant be fixed id rather just return this thing. I have had 5 other laptops and none of them did this.

Just cut a piece of cloth that will fit over the keyboard area. Protect the screen when it is closed!

Yeah mine m11x is starting to do that to. Really the best solution is to put a piece of cloth inbetween. But I feel you, none of my other laptops do it, but I don't really mind it's a lot more convenient to carry around with me and I can still get a couple rounds in on MW2 or play some BF2 :-D

Guys this is not really normal? I'm getting a replacement unit for this problem.
If no other laptop has this why the hell should someone accept this with this laptop?

Also using a cloth between the screen and keyboard will make it flex overtime? It isn't designed to have something between the keyboard and glass cover, not for a long time that is.

I only have two little marks from the rubber thingies that are designed to prevent this from happening. Are you guys missing the rubber separators?

No i do have the rubber separators, for some strange kind of reason my screen isn't rightly attached to the hings, on the left side its lower than the right side.

On my system there is a little rubber pad under the left control key and the right arrow key and my system closes perfectly. My hinges are also perfectly aligned. Something is definitely amiss with your system Frankie!

Yeah i think something went wrong with assembling, or shipping. Doesn't matter its getting replaced! I do hope the replacement is perfect though, hardwarewise there's nothing wrong with this little beast!

UPDATE: My LCD was replaced today for a piece of debris in my LCD and so far it appears to have fixed the problem I had with all my keys on the keyboard touching my screen. So I would say if you are having that problem call them and ask for a replacement LCD

Both m11x's I ordered have this problem... I made a thread about it a few days ago.

A quick way of testing if the keyboard is touching the screen is to just put a sheet of paper between the keyboard and screen without touching the little rubber pad. In theory it should just slide out, but if you pull it out you'll feel that the keys are putting pressure on it...

I've had both my keyboard and screen replaced and its the same thing, I'm thinking its just a design flash, a quick solution would be to just make the little rubber separators a bit bigger...

I received my m11x r2 today, and as soon as I opened it I noticed there was debris on the inside of the screen. It almost looks like wood shavings or pine bedding.. Do hamsters help build these in China now? Bizarre.

Anyway, I don't want to get a replacement LCD, I just want to return it and get my money back. I wonder if they will insist on just trying to fix it. We shall see; calling for my CRA today.
