What speed are you overclocking it at (for example, 160 mhz)? Try downclocking it a bit as you could be unstable with your current overclock.

lol this is an R1. the only option is to enable or disable the overclock in the bios.

haha ok didnt read that bit :\
So it isnt possible to choose the overclock speed for the m11x r1? However I thought they were all stable at 1.6?

You could just run prime95 for an hour or so, overclock failures can be caught pretty easily that way

nope its not possible. just on or off. unless you do the ICS pll mod and then you can use software to overclock.

Ahhh ok thanks for clarification :) Although for some reason I thought that unlike the R2, everyone with the R1 was able to achieve the overclock of 1.6?

So if the issue is overclock instability, he'll be able to catch it by running p95 for however long it takes. Usually when theyre cpu instability when running p95 it doesnt automatically BSOD, rather p95 says an error has occured on thread X. at least that has been my experience with it in the past and testing overclocks.

most of the time people can get 1.6 without issues, but there is that rare occasion when it isnt stable.

yea... you might be one of those few ppl that cant get the 1.6ghz OC to work.

but you may still have a easy out. try running with just one stick of RAM and see if it still happens. and then try the other stick by itself.

it is possible you have a bad stick of RAM.which would basically give you the same kind of instability as CPU instability.

its possible, but do you really think that a stick would fail at 800mhz cas6?

    yes...

if its a bad stick it could fail at 133mhz cas9

right now my desktop has a bad stick(s) that wont run over 600mhz Cas6. the RAM is rated for 1066mhz Cas5. but my desktop is still up and running stable as long as i have the RAM set below the fail point.

so if i run P95 while i have it over clock it should be able to detect the problem before the computer shuts off.
