Installed SSD and a clean reinstallation of windows 7 into my M11X R1. It takes about 35 seconds to start up. Why isit still so slow even with SSD? I installed the Crucial M4 256GB. Is the port SATA3? or SATA2? Or even 1? I bevelive its SATA1, because my Alienware X51 is SATA2 and it loads up in 24 seconds.

I have no idea what SATA port the R1 uses, but mine used to start in about the same time too with my OCZ 120GB. Read here to clear up space and possibly reduce boot times: Sean's Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs

I used that website for my laptop and it certainly helped to clear up space. My lenovo Y480 starts in 15s with the same SSD installed. I have sine downgraded my 11x to a 250GB@7200RPM hard drive since it didn't really boost up start up times.

30-35 seconds will be the normal speed that you'll get with any SSD on the R1.
