Anyone has tried using this with m11x (r3)?
I am thinking of buying it. I know that some games will not play as well on as high detail on the 1920x1080 resolution but I hope things will still be playable?
So some more questions.
- Is the 120Hz refresh rate fully supported or will it cause me any glitches ?
- Will I have any trubles connecing the display to the laptop ?
- Does m11x support 3d vision ? This is one of the reasons that I would be buying this monitor.

As for your first question of things being playable. The higher resolution typically drops 10fps from original native gameplay.

ty for reply. Thats more or less what I expect.
Anyone has any experiences connecting a 120Hz monitor to the m11x ? -

I have this monitor for my desktop, it only supports 120Hz thru Dual Link DVI, not sure about adapters.

I am sure at least the R3 supports 3d vision, unsure about Nvidia 335M card in R1 and R2.
and i doubt the 120Hz will be a problem, at least m11x wise -

The external displays* on the r3 are routed though the nvidia versus the intel. With that in mind, Im not sure the above link applies as we are talking about an external display not using optimus?
60hz per port X 2 120hz as mentioned. You can ger hdmi to dvi and dp to dvi.
(s) is guessing since the hdmi port is clearly using the nvida at all times, while havent used dp port. Assume both routed same minus sound. -
I'm pretty sure output is routed through the GMA in a typical Optimus configuration.
Dual Link DVI isn't 2 ports, it's one port, one cable. -
So Dave what you are saying is that 120Hz will not work with monitors that can run 120Hz only via DVI ports, but I can get 120Hz if I get a monitors that supports that via HDMI ?
For example this one ? Acer GN245HQ - 3D Vision Blog -
I have a LG 3D monitor that works by polarization instead, exactly because I wasn't sure that the HDMI was fast enough. It works very well.
