reinstall your display driver. Also be sure you are on the latest BIOS and OSD/Command Center is the current version. For the M11xR1, see these links:

    BIOS A05

    OSD

    Dell NV 197.72

    Command Center

Wait a sec, do you own an M11x with a core 2 duo, or an i5/i7 core processor?
The M11x R1 stands for M11x's that have the core 2 duo.
As for the FN+F6 key, it only works for the M11x R1(Core 2 Duo)
You need to setup Nvidia Optimus for it to work on the M11x R2.

In his original post he referenced being able to switch via the function key combo - this led me to believe he has an R1. Links I posted are for the R1.

michealsho - think of the R as 'Release' ;) If it turns out you have an i-series processor, disregard my links as they do not apply to your system.

    Well do what Batboy said.
If that doesn't fix it, your best bet is to call up dell.

Once you restart after installing the driver, depress FN+F6 to enable Hybrid mode (Intel+NV). Windows should then install the remainder of the driver. Once complete, reboot the system.

If still having issues, time to call support.
