Hello all, I am in need of help. Last night my m11x was working fine, I woke up this morning to a "Alien Fx Controller error" I then procedeed to log in to skype when skype crashes. Soon after I realised most programs could no longer launch and crash at startup.. Google, and youtube work fine however.

Earlier I tried uninstalling command center and reinstalling. Upon reinstalling I get the Alien FX controller error again and the install stops?

I've taken the back peice of the laptop off to view and everything looks ok from a glance. This is so frustrating, It was just working yesterday completely fine, and now this!!?!

Does anyone have advice on what may fix this? Whoever can tip me on some advice that fixes this I would love to tip 20$. Thanks!

P.S. this is the Alien FX controller error I get:

Although I can't personally understand the error message, I'd recommend running an antivirus/anti-malware scan (I recommend MSE) to see if that could be the problem.

Otherwise try "chkdsk /r C:" at the command prompt (cmd.exe at the search bar/start menu) to see, and try to repair, if any sectors on your hard drive went corrupt.

If no one else can help to solve the problem, you could try a System Restore to before the problem took place. It would hopefully do the trick if there's no obvious problem with Windows or the HD/RAM that's trying to load the programs.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I have tried the methods you provided and the problem still persists. I have also done system restores multiple times. One time I was able to open steam and talk to a friend for just a sec and then it crashed.. Now I cant even open skype without a crash. Im on what to do :(

    I Think it's a virus tho.
