Well I installed SP1, and noticed right away when I was booting for the first time after install my fan turned up spontaniously (sorry didn't perform a temp control).

I restarted multiple times and did some browsing and music listening, but still the fan turning on and off all the time, while the air blowing out seems relatively cool compared to pre-SP1 state where the air is noticably warmer.

I never had this prior to SP1, and the fan isn't turned on even after 2 hours of browsing and music listening.

So I uninstalled SP1, and voila, no more unnesessary turning on of the fan.

    So no SP1 here.

Not me. Had to enable Nvidia GPU (M11xR1) to force the fan to engage.

For 97.42% of people Windows 7 SP1 will have no impact (or benefits) for M11x owners.

Check your temperature and CPU use. BIOS A05 is required on the M11xR1 for optimal threshold settings for temperature control.

I'm on A05... Then it must be my m11x.
Don't mind not having SP1 though.

You need to log your temps in order to determine if this is something abnormal or not.

My fan was definitely turning on more after I installed SP1 and I was on BIOS A03. I then flashed to A05 after reading it was supposed to fix this, and it did. Now the fan doesn't go on until the temp reaches 52.
