So I am noticing a slight mouse lag especially when playing FPS games and upon further investigation there is a .2 frame lag associated with optimus.

" According to Nvidia's engineers, the copying creates a latency of 0.2 of a frames. Thus, the delay shouldn't be a major problem. "

I hadn't noticed it in Mass Effect 2 or Fallout 3.

It is hard to understand what he means with that statement, it would have been nice for a MS number.

However, I did some math and I think that basically means a 3-15 MS lag on the display, depending on framerate (the higher the FPS the lower the lag, since you push more frames per second and thus a .2 of a frame is less time).

Anyway, it is certainly nothing to scoff out, if I have a 30 MS ping (not uncommon) then a 15 MS frame lag is increasing my delays by 50%. Or another example would be LCD TVs, I remember people used to say 8 MS was pretty high but OK for gaming response time. Optimus is gonna have more than an 8MS lag in many cases. It is kind of made worse by the fact that Optimus is gonna be used in many laptops that will get lower FPS anyway.

If you are getting 60+ FPS in everything then the lag is pretty minimal, but on a notebook with a 30 FPS average and even lower in some games that lag could get very noticeable.
