I'm considering returning this m11x. I'v been having way to many issues with this one...

    -2 weeks to deliver
-3rd tech supposed to be coming this week to replace screen, keyboard, dead alienFX LED near power button
-Over 3 weeks since I ordered and NO usable laptop yet (broken keyboard)

Also, I really want a dx11 laptop (gt400m or ati)

Is there any upcoming laptop with:

-Equivalent or more battery life (top priority)
-dx11 graphics (either 400m or ATI equvilant)

    Any ETA on m11x R3 ???

I don't mind waiting up to 2 months. Even 3..

Those of us who ordered the R2 when it came out had to wait like 4-5 weeks IIRC, so feel some comfort in only having waited half as long so far :)

For any notebook to have both a good GPU /and/ comparable battery life it's going to have to be an Optimus system that allows you the option of switching to a more efficient IGP. There's nothing on the immediate horizon at this point that's going to give you both an DX11 and Optimus (or some equivalent technology). I'd guess that something like that is 9-12 months out.

If you want more battery life, look into an Acer Timeline X.

I really wouldn't worry too much about DirectX 11. The Alienware M11x really has the most powerful GPU you can find in a laptop that is <14", and even that has a hard time getting 60fps at native resolution with all details turned up in many games. You really don't have too much spare GPU computing power to turn on DirectX 11, so it wouldn't really benefit us very much anyway.

And no, no ETA on the M11xR3 (I kind of wish people would stop asking). It is ABSOLUTELY NOT coming within 2 or 3 months, and I am willing to bet money that you won't even see anything close to a replacement with 1 year. They really have no reason to replace the M11x. Even the oldest model of M11x was released less than 8 months ago, and the M11x has the highest gaming performance of any laptop under 14". It makes no sense for them to spend money to redesign the M11x right now, since they are already the best in the "highly portable gaming notebook" category.
