Any recommendation on cooler pad for M11x?

Prefer something solid, perhaps from e.g. CoolerMaster :)

I highly recommend the CoolerMaster NotePal U1 for the M11x! I got one for mine and the temps have been greatly reduced (7 to 8 degrees difference). Its got a moveable fan and is built out of aluminum with perforated holes at the bottom. It also raises the back and not only assists in better cooling but also angles the keyboard to a more ergonomic incline. :)

I was looking at the U and the U3, but they say they accommodate up to 19"... They look better than the U1 but I don't want something which is going to significantly bigger than my M11x, that would defeat the purpose of having a laptop this small.

Hi Rishwin! The U1 is the perfect size for the M11x. Once you put the laptop on it, you can hardly see the edges of the cooler pad.

The U3 would be too big for the M11x but that's what I use for my M17x R3 and it fits perfectly as well!

I got a better idea, clean out your fan, and the M11X becomes icy cold. But if you really need one, then get one of the Coolmaster brand coolers. They are really decent.

I always find these type of coolers illogical. Considering the fact that the M11x exhausts heat from the back; what this cooler does is take in that hot exhaust air and redirect it back underneath your notebook.
I do not doubt that it works, it just doesn't seem logical to me. Anyone got any real life figures?

I saw one of these Antec coolers at a store. The issue that I have with these is that once the back of the laptop is raised, the front of the laptop is no longer resting on the rubber feet. Instead, the front of the laptop will be supported by the sharp corner of the case.

I'm not so sure how stable this set up is compared to a complete (front and back) inclined surface where all the rubber feet are designed to be in contact with.

    Greetings,

Currently i'm using Logitech N200 cooling pad,and i'm not very satisfied with it.I have to unscrew it in order to clean the fan.Nevertheless,i'm planning on getting Cooler Master U3 with 3 movable fans. The question is,would it be too big ? U1 is the prefect size from what i have read, but it only has 1 fan :( So is there anyone here using a cooler master U3 for his/her M11X R3 ? just want to know some feedback :)

I am using the Belkin cooling pad cheap and cheerful. I dont bother with the built in fan but the shape of it is perfect to rest on the armchair in my lounge or on your lap :)

It is a very good size for it as well fits near spot on and no slip. Gets some good air to the annoying position of the M11 fan vent too.

Because the van vent is in the top left having a coolmaster will do nothing I am afraid it is good to get clearance underneith the laptop and more importantly elevate the fan exit rather than blasting air into the plastic cover. The vents on the underside are all blocked with foam and cloth to prevent dust getting in.

+1 here. I have this too and it works perfectly and is basically the same size as the m11x, no slip, gives a nice rear elevation (if wanted) and plenty of flowing air underneath if need be. For less than £10 it is a bargain and doesn't feel cheap either.

Totally I find the shape of it allows you to get air into the vital section top left of the underside and it prevents the fan reaching hairdryer mode quite often. Bargain bucket price I just cut the fan wire off and use it as a cooling pad instead.

Honestly guys do not spend all your money on fans that are positioned centrally you do not need it if you remove the base panel and take a look you will see what I mean the holes in the panel are covered in cloth to block any dust getting inside the only place air can enter into the laptop is the fan vent top left.

I use an upside-down old Ratpadz with tuppeny-ha'penny self-adhesive feet stuck on it :p Dell engineer was very impressed.

M11XDude, Great pictures. It seems that pad is the perfect size for the M11X. But seeing the pad is at that steep of an angle, isn't it uncomfortable to use the M11X keyboard while typing of playing games?

Hi rla1999! Thanks! It's actually more comfortable typing and when playing games when it's on the U1. When the laptop is flat on the desk, my hands tend to be arched more forward and down. With the U1, my hands are in a more natural position.

As an added bonus, the screen is also lifted a bit higher when on the U1 so you don't have to look too much down. The screen is closer to eye level when on the U1 as compared to when the laptop is flat on the desk. :)
