    Hi,

I am considering getting a blue tooth headset for the m11x as I am bringing it out so often these days (Previously, my old laptop was just too big and heavy and since it only lasted about 57mins unplugged, it only saw sunshine once every 2 years or so) that I do not relish having wires dangling over me everywhere I go. I also tend to play an hour or so with my m11x in bed before I sleep everynight, and don't want wires over-running the bed....

I read that some blue tooth headsets can only pair if the computer has A2DP technology....I am not sure if the m11x has this built-in?

Is anyone currently using a pair of bluetooth headset that they would like to recommend? ;)

This isn't what you are asking at all... but I would recommend that you do not get wireless headphones. Just because they are wireless, does not automatically mean that they are better. You make a lot of sacrifices for the wireless nature of the device. Sound quality drops quite a bit (because the audio data is compressed before transmitting to the headphones), the headphones are much heavier because they have batteries, and they are much more expensive.

If there is any place to *NOT* get wireless, it is with headphones. Get a wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, all of that is fine. But wireless headphones are something I would generally stay away from.

Now that's out of the way - if you are still interested in bluetooth headphones despite that rant, what is your price range?

I agree that blue tooth technology will definately degrade the quality of the music. It does make sense. However I have read many positive comments from users of blue tooth stereo headsets on Amazon, and while I realize that sound quality is at times 'subjective', I am willing to sacrifice a little quality loss for the convenience of going wireless.

I have read some posts by fellow m11x users that have stated that they are using blue tooth headsets, and was hoping to find out what they were using, and their connection experiences. I read an issue with the m11x dropping the connection to the blue tooth mouse sometimes when you use it at the same time as the blutooth headset, but I think Brian from Alienware resolved it.

Budgetwise, maybe something between $30-$70. Of course cheaper is always better, but I don't mind paying a little more within the scale if there is a benefit.

    Thanks.

I have sony's official bluetooth headset for the PS3 (excellent headset btw) - it ran me around $30 on ebay. I'll try it out with the m11x when it arrives this week and let you know how it works.

I tried using some BT headphones with my R1 and found out that the M11x does not support BT streaming. I bought a BT adapter that works with headphones by plugging into the headphone jack.

Can anyone else confirm that the in-built blue tooth in the m11x does not support Blue tooth stereo headsets? :( I was hoping to use blue tooth headsets to listen to online music sites like Pandora or any other online music sites.
