Hey guys just curious if anyone else has this problem? Few months ago i had this problem where i kept getting shocked by the screws on the bottom lid everytime i had it hooked up to the charger. Dont really use it on my lab the whole time but when i did it bugged me. I had to send it in and all they did was replace the charger. Just a few days ago i woke up and turned on the laptop with it on my lap and felt it again. I called tech support and they sent a tech over to replace the motherboard. When the tech came it wasnt shocking me at that time so he did nothing and left. All he said it was that it was normal and kind of trying to make it seem like it was my fault.

Anyone else having this issue with their m11x?

I've never been shocked by my m11x. I would try to see if something your doing is maybe causing it. One time I had a pair of shoes that if I wore them I would always get shocked by my car. Maybe something like that is happening to you.

No, but I did have it rested on my bare chest and hairs got pulled into the fan. That felt like an electric shock!

Yeah not too sure what might be causing it but doubt it had something to do with me. I even tested it on my girl friend and she felt it too. And last time i got shocked( havent checked since) i couldve sworn i was half naked lol so it wasnt my shoes or socks. Room is carpet free too.

But yeah, so i guess this is not normal. Dell guy was at my house with motherboard on hand, atleast he couldve switched it. It really pissed me off that he didnt.

pretty sure this is wiring issue and has nothing really to do with your M11x. i would check to see if your outlet is grounded. also you could try charging it off a different outlet to see if it still happens.

not sure about the climate you live in but as it gets colder outside humidity levels in the air drop and this is when a lot of ppl get shocked by random stuff. as the temp raises the humidity level in the air will raise and you will hardly notice the shocks anymore. they are still happening but since the air is more conductive with the added humidity the charge has more "stuff" to run thru as you get closer to the other charged object. so it more gradual change in charge instead of a rapid one like in the winter time.

I think the only time that happened to me was when I wore a wool sweater in December and touched one of the USB ports while it was plugged into a wall. (No surge protector at the time.) No lasting damage, thankfully!
