I've found an interesting "quirk" if you will with my Alienware M11x R2... the left click button right below the touchpad doesn't seem to be as sensitive as the right one. I can tap the right button and get a response... whereas it seems like I have to push REALLY hard to get a response from the left button.

I've found that if you aren't pushing the button in just the right place, it doesn't seem to register anything... Likewise the right button registers no matter what way you push it.

Is this a hardware issue with the laptop? Is anyone else having this issue? I reinstalled my touchpad driver and it didn't seem to help.

The buttons are extremely cheap and, IMO, are the worst part of the M11x. The place where it registers a click is in the corner where they touch at the top. If you push it away from there, it won't register sometimes because there isn't enough support along the length of the button andor the button itself isn't sensitive enough; the further to the outside, the less chance it will register.

Both buttons on mine are equally responsive. Unless I'm gaming I'm using the track pad - roughly 6 hours a day. If there was any hint of either button acting oddly it would drive me nuts. I'd call support and pursue a replacement of the track pad.

I think it may be just down to wear and tear, as my left-click button is the same as what you describe.

My left-click button is also slightly pushed down.

Got the very same trouble here - yours is a perfect description. This is what my left click button is from the very first day - so it cannot be a wear and tear issue.

In all honesty it's really a non-issue... since I use my DeathAdder 99% of the time.... and if I browse with the touchpad, I just tap-to-click

It's just kinda quirky that the button is set up this way. It's not technically "broken" so I doubt that Dell would even entertain the idea of fixing it. I think it's just the way the button is set up.

I dont have this issue and feedback is the same from left to right across both buttons. What I DO notice is because of the size, the palmrest border gets in my way.

Yeah, I think that those people who have oddly behaving buttons - not registering actuation when pressing in the middle, different sensitivity between the two, etc. - should be contacting support to have it replaced.

Nah - I prefer to keep my buttons as they are - I have this little superstition that a single M11x could have one major flaw only - you know... "the lightning does not strike twice" thing. So, since my buttons are flimsy and glitchy - my hinges are supposed to be totally indestructible! :D
