Is there actually a way to control the M11X R1 fan? I don't think having a R2 would change this. So far EVGA precision just plain sucks and I can actually overclock to max Clock speed, shader speed and memory speed. But doesn't make a difference,so therefore EVGA precision doesn't work for controling the fan speed, nor overclocking. I'm stuck on Dial-Up until 24 feb. And I can't just download any software, because downloading at 700 bytes-15 KB is not wonderful. Any help?

Mumak has been working on adding fan control to HWiNFO32 for the M11x as well. Check out his thread here on NBR.

I'm not sure if the I8kfanGUI tool will work here. From my experience on M17x at least, using that interface caused machine feezes and random application/system crashes.
I have been experimenting with another method for manual fan control which worked quite well, the only problem I had was bringing the fan back to automatic mode.
I can consider implementing this feature to users of M11x and M17x R3 if there's a real demand..

Hmmm, you sound like you know your stuff. I would love a fan control for the M11X. I would push it to the max. But then theres also the danger of crashes...

While it may be unconventional, there is an individual who is working on the M17x R1 and R2 BIOS at the moment. I have a test version of the BIOS running (See Sig) and it allows for you to change the fan trip points in the BIOS. Mis sig has pictures that show this option in the BIOS if you'd like to see it, just follow my BIOS sig link.. It is a feature I will be testing tommorrow. But He has plans to work The M17x R3 BIOS next, and may make his way through the M15x and M11x BIOS as well. If it's something you'd like, I definately encourage your support in it because This guy is putting in his time towards making these things possible and doing so in his own free time. I left him a good donation, and plan on doing so again for the M11x, and the final BIOS versions.

The fan control meLisCha recommended didn't have a digitally signed driver. Look forward to the M11X bios mod.

    @ AlienOnions

How did nearly 60% increase on M335 Core? @ 56% increase with nearly 59% shader?, which even my 480 with water cooling at a constant 60 Degrees on 100% load W/ voltage is meeting under 40%???

    Your sig:
    GT335M at 704/1710/909 stable.

Max I can push my 335M is 570ish and event hen I BSOD sometimes, I would say stable 550ish.

Would be very cool if he could have a look at the M11xR1 and R2. Maybe more overclocking options and addition of Vcore adjustments, removal of thermal constraints for Turbo Boost, etc.

I'm pretty sure he just moved the sliders to max and stated that was his overclock, no tests or anything. If he ran 3dmark with that OC then he would have the highest score here(maybe 9k) but if he ran 3dmark he would crash within 2 secs.

He's kidding of course... just look at his profile page:

BTW: <strike>Milotic already has the highest 3DMark06 score... it's over 9000 over at the R2 benchmark thread.</strike> EDIT: NVM, he used 640x480.

Ummmmm kidding? I hope so but I really doubt it.

I mean why create optimization threads with false ("joking") spec information, ppl won't take you seriously. lol

It'd belike me putting in my sig 1200 MHZ stock 480 GTX undervolted then make a thread on how to OC it to help ppl lol :p

    Anyways :)

Nope, tested Crysis. I had 5 cooling pads on the bottom, hence why I am asking for more fan speed. You couldn't touch the M11X at the bottom, or your fingers burn. I got 12+ FPS on medium settings. I recommend you don't OC your GPU, if you do, then be sure to keep a fire extinguisher next to your lap.

Oh, and the GT335M isn't really stable. REALLY HOT, had to use 5 cooling pads. I was thinking of shoving my M11X R1 in the fridge. Of course overclocking the m11x to 3.0GHz is a joke. I can already imagine my house on fire... :p
