I was just wondering if there was a way to force optimus to use the nvidia graphics.. some of my games automatically detect the GPU and won't adjust to the Nvidia gpu they just use the intel graphics..thanks

use what pwnYourBrain said but you could also try disabling the intel card in device manager, I havent tried this but in theory it would work...

Actually, this doesn't work for Darksiders or DCUO.

Both games play great with the Intel HD graphics, but using the video card for any kind of AA is a no go.

I love the machine, but I would've preferred manual switching graphics. Because Optimus isn't infallible.

If anyone has any solutions, I'm down to hear them.

Black screen of doom eh.. I wish they made a BIOS update that could make it switchable if thats possible...

You could try what I use, the 258 modded inf drivers have no problems regarding programs not using the nVIDIA card (actually I have problems getting programs to use the Intel one) so perhaps you can give that driver a shot, although I've heard good things about the 265 driver and thats its the most stable

No I can confirm that doesn't work for all programs.

so what happens if you go to 'Manage 3D Settings' and put Explorer.exe in the list with 'High-Performance NVIDIA Processor'

will it always run with the 335 then?

Yeah it should but I've had it where programs (mostly games) won't work. For example when I was using the 260.99 driver. I would play GTA IV with the Intel card because the 335M GT would absolutely never kick in no matter what I did or how many .exe's I added to the whitelist.

This is my problem with DCUO. Although it does play really well with the Intel HD, as well as Darksiders, but I wanted to see if I could get any AA performance out of the game. And that takes the 335m, which no matter what, DCUO does not recognize it. I'd try different drivers, but it plays fine with the current ones.
