BFBC2 Config Notes:
In sp I ran the same area of the map over and over and over. Cold war, section 2 with the apc all the way through the bus. I did this about 5 times per setting to get a better idea of trends. All logged with Fraps
I noticed the following...
Dx9 vs Dx10 (avg is same, the strangeness is the min and max fps)
Dx9 has higher Min and Lower Max.
Dx10 has much lower Min and Much Higher Max.
Low vs Medium (Detail)- I just cant see a difference here. None...
Low vs Medium (Texture) - same as above
Low vs Medium (Effects) 2-4 fps hit, this enables bloom.
1AF vs 16AF 1-2 fps hit
And for those who think 400 mhz is going to make huge difference, check out this article I found today.
http://www.techspot.com/article/255-battlefield-bad-company2-performance/page7.html
They took an i-7 and clocked it from stock to massive oc to get an idea of impact on fps.
more to come...

I should also note.. this is DX9, running BFBC2 as an admin. CPU OC and gamebooster to clear out unwanted services. I am going to play some more matches today for about 5 to 10 minutes each to compare. I will post honest results whether they are good or bad. I am all about fair and honest benchmarking and reporting.
Best Wishes,

this is on your SU4100? not bad man min 17 is pretty good.

BFBC2 GAMEPLAY VID ON R2
There is a dip at probably 7:57. The framerate dipped at 8. Whoa huh?
Frames-15561
Timems-541074
min-8
max-57
avg-28.759
But I'm happy with the results for this is really gaming on the go.
Unplugged, No CPU or GPU overclock, no gamebooster.
All details on medium except shadows on low. 1x aa and af no vsync, no hbao.
Stock dell drivers.
I think i was playing DX10, for everything was default.
I wasnt playing very good, but its playable.
Enjoy. -

Good video Arklight! My guess is that they will get the kinks worked out on the R2 and you guys will have a steady 3-5 frames up on us R1 guys. Glad to see others enjoying the M11x. That is what they are for right? Not just numbers and benchmarks...
Best Wishes,

Arklight - Also... the server can and does cause game play slowdowns. I would NOT count this against the m11x. Server connectivity can be tough sometimes. That is why I first bench against a single player mission over and over again until i get my settings the way I want. Then take it over to the multiplayer area and let the chips fall where they may. Congrats on the video! I need to get off my rear and do the same. Best Wishes, StevenX

I had to completely format and reload my machine Friday night. Fresh build of win7 from usb stick. Drivers 198.05, lots of cleanup and optimization.

NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.49 WHQL
I doubt it.. first of all its quadro drivers but that most likely means there is no optimus (or what its called) support as needed for the R2 -

Guys, my R2 has arrived
I will be posting some BFBC2 benchmarks when I get home from work.
Steven, I tried your settings plus gamebooster on my OCed R1 and cannot get anything like the FPS you get online. I am using 197.16 beta drivers from Dell. Do you think your higher FPS could be driver related? -

@Ninja - I just got into work... PM me and I will start to explain what to do to optimize. Keep in mind I have a R1 but the optimizations should work for all notebooks or computers. Thanks! Also I need to change how I benchmark BFBC2. I need to STOP the F11 (fraps benchmark) each time it goes into a menu. I am getting false zeros and likewise false 50-60s when in the death window during a match. Makes the process more complicated but more accurate.

Driver 258.49 will work for all normal nvidia cards with modified INF file. I have tried both COD MW2 and BFBC2 and FF14 bench and I love this driver so far... LOVE IT! 10-15% change for me. This is going from 198.05 (I am talking about in game fps, not FF14 bench when comment on percentage)

steven - I assume you're running those drivers with discrete only set in bios?

Playing on my R1 yesterday was painful, mine only ever gets over 20fps if nothing is going on with a full 32man server. I have optimised my OS and have minimal processes running as well as gamebooster. Your video looks a lot more fluid!
