so while trying to optimize BF3 beta, i went to MSconfig and set my R1 to use 2 cores instead of 1 when playing the game.

I went to restart and got a BSOD

then i went to repair, BSOD

all my restore points = BSOD

when i go to repair the problem, it says it cant, still get BSOD

any idea how to fix, i have tried EVERYTHING, all three of my resotre points all result in a BSOD

i get the error message: BAD_CONFIG

i tried safe mode, last good coniguaration, all of those startup commands. BSOD
    :(

I'm not sure if w7 does things the same as previous, but here goes.

You can try booting a linux livecd (or liveusb - search for unetbootin), and mount the windows drive. Open up the C:\boot.ini file in the text editor and find the line that has numproc in it and delete the line and then save the file.

    Sorry, no boot.ini in win7!

Also sorry because I can't think of a way out of that one! Might try it on mine an see what happens...

Have you tried doing a repair by booting from your Win7 disc?

If that doesn't work... I think you're stuck with the ole Format C: :(
