so while trying to optimize BF3 beta, i went to MSconfig and set my R1 to use 2 cores instead of 1 when playing the game.
I went to restart and got a BSOD
then i went to repair, BSOD
all my restore points = BSOD
when i go to repair the problem, it says it cant, still get BSOD
any idea how to fix, i have tried EVERYTHING, all three of my resotre points all result in a BSOD
i get the error message: BAD_CONFIG
i tried safe mode, last good coniguaration, all of those startup commands. BSOD

I'm not sure if w7 does things the same as previous, but here goes.
You can try booting a linux livecd (or liveusb - search for unetbootin), and mount the windows drive. Open up the C:\boot.ini file in the text editor and find the line that has numproc in it and delete the line and then save the file. -
Sorry, no boot.ini in win7!
Also sorry because I can't think of a way out of that one! Might try it on mine an see what happens... -
is this in the registry?
-
Have you tried doing a repair by booting from your Win7 disc?
If that doesn't work... I think you're stuck with the ole Format C: -
hey thanks for the responses,
DONT GO TRY IT
and Darkdomino: im planning on selling it anyways, might reformat, wipe it, underclock it and sell it haha.
BSOD: Completely Frustrated!
