Did anyone start seeing wear on their battery yet? It's depressing. I have 3.5% wear now and I've used the M11x for five months and counting.

Three and a half months of usage and still 0% wear at the moment.
Hopefully my battery wears out much later...

I've had mine since May of 2010. Tried using BatteryBar Pro's trial software and it seems to be running strong. I usually run mine from the wall outlet.

I have 3 and a half months with mine and is still 0.0% wear, but like ebondefender, I use it 95% of the time with the wall outlet....

If you want to keep your battery lasting as long as possible:
    1) Get it down to a 40% charge
    2) Go into BIOS, and turn off the charging.

Li-Ion batteries last longest at 40% charge. Keeping a Li-Ion battery at full 100% capacity all the time will drain the battery capacity, because of the chemistry behind Li-Ion batteries.

When you need to use the battery, just charge it up to 100% and use it as needed. When you are done, drain it back down to 40% and disable charging in the BIOS.

7 months here too with 2.8% wear. It really depends on how much you use your battery.

This is so great to hear that all these people have had their laptops for this long and the battery holds up great. My last p.o.s. HP computer had 78% wear on battery after just a little over a year. 15 minutes of battery life wasnt working out too well for me

o_O im at 7.6% for 6 months. Jeez. I use it as my main computer for about 10 hours a day (school and gaming). Is this normal for a main computer?

What's your AC/battery ratio? If you're unplugged a lot then that would be pretty normal. Batteries are meant to be used up.

I use it around campus during classes and such. When I get back to my dorm I charge it up and usually forget to unplug it until I go to sleep. So that makes sense now that I read this thread. Keeping it with charging off in BIOS at 35-40%. Does this stay with a restart? I may decide to do this when I am working on assignments/gaming at my desk. At this rate Ill be 15-20% worn by my birthday so Ill need another battery shortly after that.

    Haha in summary -
Does the BIOS option to disable charging stay when you restart?
Is there a battery replacement available for the m11x?

Yes is it does, which is annoying because you have to change the BIOS again if you want to charge again. Just use btmeter instead.

its stated in your invoice when you purchase any alienware, battery is only covered for 1 year from purchase. so yes, it is covered, but only for one year. even if you bought 3 or 4 years complete cover, your battery is only covered for one year.

I just downloaded BatteryBar. My battery is at 0% wear. I've had the m11xR2 for almost 5 months now. I've pretty much had it plugged in the whole time.

Just out of curiosity I installed BatteryBar on my Dell XPS M1210 which I've had for about three years now. The M1210 has been plugged in for almost the entire three years. It's showing 9.9% wear.

Much appreciated :) My parents rob me of this knowledge as they handle the financial and papers in the household. At least for the next 3months. Looks like ill be getting a new battery a month before my warranty expires then seeing as I'm nearing 8% worn.

That's really good, and I thought my Macbook was pretty good (3.5 yrs shows up at 97% full capacity), although my iBook G4 isn't as good since being 5 yrs old it has about 40% capacity left.

That could mean that the battery stops charging once is fully charged, because I have 4 months with my m11x that is plugged 95%of the time and is 0% of wear, but my Dell Inspiron, that I used for 1 year, and it was charging/discharging every day, it has now a 76.2% of battery wear....
