    Hello,

I'm at my wits end trying to figure out why this game is giving my machine so much trouble, as far as I can tell I've tried everything to no avail!

I've got an i5, 6GB and 540m equipped M11x R3 that should be able to handle this game in one way or another at low to medium settings given the reports I've read on here in the past, along with youtube footage of similar specced computers running Battlefield 3 at an acceptable rate (30-40fps)...

I've whitelisted the game, switched everything to low and updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, the computer isn't overheating and runs the likes of Borderlands 2 very well with a mix of medium/high settings.

Which is why I'm so confused as to why this game, in particular, is being such a pain! I've checked that the power options are correct but still stuck with a 'stuttering' during the game where quite often only environmental audio will play (gunfire sounds from my own weapons don't seem to work) and the same constant (20ish - low teens) framerate is kept regardless of the game being set to medium or low settings.

This is really confusing and bloody annoying, does anyone have any idea as to what's going on?

There are no other hungry resources in the background either, I disable origin even when I try to play along with other things but this makes no difference either.

I wonder if the game isn't compatible with onboard audio or something?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

    First things first..

Make sure you are using the latest drivers, for both Intel and nVIDIA GPU and your audio adapter as well.

Is your copy of BF3 updated? I remember they fixed this sound issue.

I'm playing BF3 and most of the time my fps range from 30 to 35fps. My in-game settings are set to AUTO, which I believe are the best performance x ratio I found.

    Hope it helps,

    Cheers.

    Thanks for the reply Sergin,

I think you're right, it IS something to do with the audio set up... I usually get my Nvidia drivers straight from their own website as opposed to going through DELL's own page... Is there something similar for the M11x R3's audio? The Realtek website is a labyrinth of choice when it comes to drivers, which is the correct set, I'm a bit lost as I've never thought to update the audio drivers before!
