Yeah I read everywhere that the Killer Wireless has less range than the Intel adapter, but to be honest I'm not really seeing it. With both wireless cards, I got 90-100% sitting on the couch, 10 feet from the router... and I get 75% (80% if I open the door) one room away, probably 20 feet (maybe a little less) away on my desk.

So in my case, the ranges were about the same for both the Killer Wireless and Intel... but your results may vary.

Bit of a necro thread but I have a similar problem to this in regards to getting range upstairs in my house I drop to 3 bars on my killer 1103 and only have 2 antenna.

Just curious if I picked up this for the third antenna would I HAVE to wire it into the screen or as mentioned earlier can it just sit underneith the keyboard? I do not understand why it has to be in the screen to perform better?

Here is a little test to show you why it should be in the screen.

Set your computer to "do nothing when the lid is closed"

Now hook up a external monitor to the computer.

Close the lid and watch your signal drop.

My m11x looses all connections in my office when I close the lid.

I get ya I thought that was the case because I am running external. How weird... Guess I will need to leave the lid open then.

The third antenna was only a quid so I bought one. Will it help?

Cant hurt. You can always do like I did and order a new lcd backing off ebay with the 4 antenna wires in it.

If you have the new style already, you need to get the matching hinges and lcd mounting rails.

It does not drop at any point though just bounces between 50-80% signal and I notice that my ping stays very low like 18 even with the poor signal so should I not worry? Got the extra antenna coming was just going to mount it under the keyboard I am just wondering if I should switch the intel mini pci from my Clevo before selling it instead as that sits solid at 100%.

I wouldnt worry then. My bigfoot cards have never let me down and I have been running them since released.
