I tried searching on nbr but i keep on getting error. So sorry if this has been already talked about
I was thinking of getting black ops for either PC or ps3, was wondering if R2 would be able to run it, and also if there would be any problem with Optimus?

Should be able to run Black Ops, without any problems.
-
Maybe check this website: It's usually pretty good:

+ infinity to noob tubes, wall hacks and campers that will be sure to make this game outstanding!
@OP - I "think" the m11 should be ok to run it based on previous versions of the game. I forgot that it's not an infinity ward production but a treyarch. This might impact performance but I am not sure. The bottom line is that each of you can play COD MW2 on high settings with no issues. Worst case scenario is you have to dial the settings down to medium.
Best Wishes, StevenX
(note) I am not doing the midnight sale on this one. I am going to wait and see if it's tube city or if it's better than MW2... -
I swear if it is noob tube city then i will probabaly go back to Fallout new vegas,
or cod4
but im not worried bout it till punkbuster is fixed -.- -
I ran the "Can You Run It?" test and it says it won't run on my system, everything passes but the CPU (I have the i7). Honestly though, I think it's just checking the id of the CPU in the system and seeing 1.2 GHz, or something it's definitely not running a test to check the actual speed, cause this processor is much faster than both of the processors that it recommended as the minimum requirement.

It may be tube city but the Scavenger perk doesn't refill launchers anymore. Besides, the PC version hopefully will have older and more respectful players on it since it's not the console version. I hope that all the 12 year old kids stick to XBL/PSN at least. -
I hope noobtubers just leave the game lol and the can you run it checks idle speed so if u use throttlestop and OC it then u will be fine
-
Will there be alot of hackers for the PC version? I've seen alot of people complain about the hacking for mw2 on pc

Only time will tell.. Dedicated servers mean the possibility of better oversight.
Thanks, StevenX -

Hey guys,
I've just installed Black Ops on my m11x R2 and it is running really poorly. I made sure my nvidia card was the preferred graphics card for the black ops .exe, turned the graphics settings down to low, and it still looks rubbish.
Any ideas? I've got the i5 w/ 4gb RAM -
Not a good sign for my R1. What video driver are you running?
-
What fps are you actually getting? Did you overclock? I knew that the r1 was borderline for Black Ops, but I definitely thought the r2 would be able to run the game pretty smoothly...
-
It's not the same engine of MW2?
Maybe you are stil using intel gpu, i hope. -
Anyone else got it?
I've got the PS3 version, and whilst I'm enjoying everything, the graphics seem to be inferior to MW2, CoD5 and CoD4. Yep.
I think it's probably to do with all the customisation, and so the consoles not being able to load up superior graphics simultaneously. PS3 has 256MB RAM, and I believe 360 was the same.
I'm thinking of getting it on PC but would like some input.
Thanks.
EDIT: Having looked around online a little, it seems there's problems in framerate (for PC), where it jumps and drops? -

Uh... I agree with that one dude. The graphics are disappointing. Maxed out, it's not as stunning as even the first MW. Moving close to an object makes it all grainy, even more than previous games. -
From the R1 thread, it looks like it's the engine's fault for now. Hopefully they'll release a patch.

I was able to play single player alright, you have to be in offline mode, then start the game, and then ctrl+alt+delete and kill steam.exe. After only 15 minutes or so it was getting really hot though, up to 70 C, so I took a break for a while.
Also I don't know why, but when I first start the game, there's no video, just a black screen, audio works though, I have to go to task manager and end task, then when I re-launch it, it asks me if I want to run it in safe mode, and I click yes and that's the only way I can get it to work. -
The Xbox graphics card has 512mb of VRAM and the Ps3 has 256mb. Anyways, I think Black Ops actually uses the World At War engine...
-
looking forward to seeing how it runs hope we get some more tests soon
