    guys

i am just wondering if i have a burned or dead gt 335m GPU in my m11x.

usually i am running Starcraft2 in high setting in 30 playable frame rates but i have a problem now that it is running barely in 10 frame rates. already i update my bios and driver for my nvidia gt 335m from dell (not from nvidia site) but to no positive results, my frame rates are disgustingly lolw.

do i have a burned or dead gt335m GPU or i am missing something here. and i call support damn i am even more knowledgeable than those guys. i hate it when big companies give their support to call centers who dont have any advance ideas regarding the matter.

please any advice to those who have good ideas to resolve my problem thanks.

Yeah Dell troubleshoot support is pretty much useless...I doubt your GPU is "melted" as you would notice the smoke coming out of the vents (I have had 2 GPUs burn out on me not on my M11x but my other laptops such as my m5550 and its pretty obvious when it happens)... Try installing latests drivers, or revert back to the drivers you were using to get 30 frames per second... If a driver is working fine for you, do not update it... People always update there driver and then complain about how there games dont run anymore... The answer is simple, REVERT. I know for a fact the modded 258.96 drivers by Nautis run Sc2 great. Give it a search on these forums, its lying around here somewhere.

Obviously you can still use your laptop as it has an intergrated graphics processor independent of the NVIDIA card especially since you have the Reversion 1 while Reversion 2 may be another case since it is dependent on each other (optimus).

I highly doubt your nvidia gpu is fried however if you want to use the reversion 1 with just the intel, turn switchable mode off in bios.

lol try whitelisting starcraft 2 haha

If that doesnt work, try going to the bios and set it so it only uses the descrete graphics card (335m). and if you still get picture after then you know your cards not burnt out.

If your card is not burnt out, AND starcraft IS whitelisted. Check your power options, set the graphics processer to use maximum performance. Or you could have installed something that screwed with your settings, which i would suggest to do a system restore or just start over clean.

    Ok.

You have an M11x R1 with a Nvidia GT 335M card.

Switch the graphics card to Nvidia discrete mode.

Using EVGA precision set the following moderate clock speeds.
You can not invoke EVGA without having Nvidia GPU enabled.

    Core clock: 580
    Shader Clock: 1415
    Memory Clock: 880

Run 3DMark06 and you should get a 3DMark score of approx 6850 or better.
3DMark is just an indicator for a range of attributes, but in running 3DMark06 with the above Nvidia clock settings we can better understand what one means when one says ones GPU is burnt or 'dead'.
When we have a known benchmark, we can then explore what can be done to improve the GPU or at worst what it's current state is.

I have an R2 so I am not familiar with exact BIOS options but what I mean was have it boot with the Intel gpu which I guess would be the switchable option since discrete is a dedicated gpu... just dont use the Fn + F2 command

Uhhh what I noticed is that you're using the drivers from the Dell stie, those are outdated, I would update them. As for Starcraft 2 settings turn shadows off for boost in fps in-game.
