    For those of you who already owned Portal when you purchased your M11x, can you tell me if you're able to gift the extra copy to someone else?

    I don't remember if there was an option. I don't think there is though. I think it just adds to the first account logged in. You could juts log your friends account in probably though.

    Yeah this is correct, the first account you open in steam will have portal automatically added to. So you could get your friend to log in (so his account has portal), but no you can't gift the game to him by using the gift option.
