Weird problem on my m11x. I have EvE in Steam and when I open it the EvE launcher it starts, and then fades to the background (like normal), but then just completely disappears and never starts the actually game.

R1? R2? Drivers? Has it ever worked properly? Boxers?

R2, I updated the drives when I received it about 2 months ago. This is my first time trying to launch eve.

Driver version would still be helpful to know.

Have you properly white listed the Eve executable? Not steam.exe and not the Eve launcher if there is one. The actual game executable itself. Steam typically places game executable in this path:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\[game folder]

and yes the eve.exe is whitelisted.

Also what about that user security control thing? I remember it would cause all kinds of problems in Vista so I turned it off, but I couldn't find an option to turn it off in windows 7.

Edit: the version I listed was for my intel graphics. My Nvidia driver is 260.89 (just updated today).

I also turned off my firewall, but am still having 0 luck at launching eve.

Edit: Also tried running in compatibility mode (vista and xp) didn't work.

Also, just download the standalone client for EvE. Steam integration on MMO's that already patch themselves is so meh.

Yea, I did that and finally got it working. I guess it's just a steam issue.

It runs nicely. It's a powerful little machine. Of course I haven't done any huge fleet ops with it yet, but I'm sure that'll cause a least a bit of lag (as it's taxing even for my Sager).

If you're worried about the m11x being able to run games, you shouldn't. I finally booted SC2 up on it the other day and it ran/looked beautiful, if that gives you any benchmark.
