I have just realized that I can't change the brightness of my laptop. Setting it to a dimmer or brighter setting does not change it at all. I have used the FN+f4/f5 keys, through the control panel and through the Alienware Command Center and still the brightness stays the same. I installed the latest drivers for both Intel and Nvidia already. I can't seem to find a solution for this problem.

Try the dell drivers for both nvidia and intel.

I believe the brightness can be toggled via the keyboard shortvuts even in BIOS where the OS drivers wouldn't be running... Might be a panel problem. Try booting into BIOS and setting the default brightness to see if it changes.
