I'm running an M11xR2 with 265.90 drivers but I keep getting the "Renderer #0 could not be initialized" error whenever I try to launch the game. I've tried the troubleshooting guide on Frictional Games forums but none of their solutions worked for me.

Therefore, I was wondering whether any of you guys who have the game managed to get it running. Maybe you could share with me how you did it? Thanks in advance

For me I bought it of steam, installed it, and never had it crash even once during my playthrough.

    I'm running 260.99 drivers though.

Now that is weird. I have the steam version as well and the 260.99 drivers also made my game crash when I launch it.

This sucks, I heard that this was a great game and I'd hate to waste 20 bucks on something I can't even play. =(

Not sure, I did have that renderer #0 issue with Penumbra Overture, though.

Had to go through several fixes and multiple custom .exes of the friction site before I found one that worked for me.

This is another driver issue. Revert back to the official set of drivers and it works fine.

I've just resigned myself to not playing this as well as a slew of others and sticking with the 265.90r2 driver set just so i play PB games.

Hohum, looks like were waiting till the new year before the official set of 265 drivers are released.

I'm using the stock Dell drivers and it runs like a dream on my R1.

I'm running 258.96 (a little old maybe) and never had any probs with any game i've tried to run. Penumbra and amnesia both work fine both steam versions.
Also while on the subject of Steam: Go get buying! Loads of christmass offers on. Highly recommend Super Meat Boy! Brilliant, addictive and infuriating!!!

    Ninja edit: R2 here.

I've been taking a look at Amnesia, as well as Super Meat Boy, looks hilarious. :) Good to hear there's no R1 problems; I'm still running stock Dell drivers. But my girlfriend made me promise not to "buy anything for myself" before Christmas. So I took her to see Tron Legacy instead lol

I just tried using the 258.96 Drivers and Amnesia now works like a charm. Anybody thinking of buying this game should keep this in mind.

I fixed this exact issue by simply whitelisting the game. Make sure you set it to the NVIDIA GPU and not just auto-select.

Does anyone know of a good walkthrough for Amnesia? I am stuck at the beginning because I really don't know what to do.
The game has me baffled. Had it for weeks and can't figure out how to play it.

I think there's an option to turn on hints isn't there? The mementos your character takes down are very helpful.

Anyway I think if you use a walkthrough it kinda ruins the entire game, the whole point is thinking outside the box to solve the puzzles. That is where the fun lies.

EDIT: As a first hint though, follow the trail of blood until you get to the first diary page. In that room you'll find a lever on the wall. Pull it.
