Sooo i think i might have ruined something along the way on my path of gaming and other random downloading.

I have no recollection of what problem i must have caused in my system, but every time i try and download an application or a program, i always get denied, with errors such as "corrupt download file" or something of the sort.

The file it is always downloads nice, but when it's time to open and install it, i run into a problem where it pops up with an error saying that SOMETHING is corrupt with the file, therefore making it unusable.

Can someone help me with this problem?

I'm about to settle with paying for an external optical drive so i can do a factory system restore. :/

    Thanks so much in advance.

RANDOM EDIT: Youtube videos buffer quite bad as well, idk why (random stopping of the video to buffer when it has already loaded) (i have the current flash player installed...)

Sounds like there's a problem with the Internet connection.

You don't say what type of hard disk you got.

I would start by going to the command prompt and typing

    chkdsk /f

    and rebooting the computer.

The check disk utility will go through the hard drive and fix any issues it finds.
If it did not find any issues, you can now rule that out and move on to another cause.

i do have a slow internet, in a sense, but it's not slow enough to be causing every file i want to download to be corrupted. I've run several virus scans and last night i did a complete system scan and nothing came up. :/

Try using Internet somewhere else(i.e. friend's house), if the problem persists, then at least you know it's not the Internet. Rule out the most common causes first, then head into the more complicated ones.
Worst case scenario is faulty RAM/HDD.

i personally feel like i might have in the past tweaked with some user settings to get something to work better, and in that case ruined something very important...i doubt it has anything really to do with hardware, but thanks, i'll try your idea.

just curious, have u ran any malware progs? i had malware last week and every file i tried to open exe, etc...would say "file infected" and not run.

just curious if this could be behaving very similarly. if ur able to maintain low pings constantly online, i doubt its ur internet
