Just wanted to share that if and when the r4 comes out if it has a new exterior to match the current lineup and look modern and up to date I will have it. As much as i want to buy the 11 the star-trek old styling needs to go. :(

Why wait for an R4 when you can wait for the R5 or R6 in 2-3 years. They will be super duper cool with new features.

IMO the current look of the m11x is far better than the new 14x style.

Exactly my point and a brainless response. I dont care for 8xbrandybridge and 24 core 4 ghz processors in 2-3 years. I care for an exterior that looks better than it does. The current exterior is outdated compared to the 14/17/18. If anything its just the grilles in the front that are boxy and not as sleek looking as the rest of the lineup.

Agreed. The straighter lines of the M11x grille are a lot more appealing to me than the changes they've made on the more recent releases. Either way, like the updated look or not, it's hardly reason enough for a refresh. I'd much rather wait for Ivy Bridge and other features to trickle down to where they make sense for the M11x's relatively fixed price point.

Actually, it was the perfect response, for a brainless thread, don't you have any friend to share those pearls?

[Indian Voice] "Oh, I don't care about fast processors and good VGA, I just want shiny things!!" [/Indian Voice]

PS: If there is an indian here, don't take it the wrong way, I just like the accent... ;)

Bashing mode on... every time there is a thread about possible upcoming (yet obscure) revision. IDK why it's always like that.Remember speculation threads about r3 several months back? If this really a brainless thread, why are there always a lot response, albeit harsh, for a thread like this?

PS: I do agree m11x needs some exterior refinement (and build quality). Isn't that the main reason for (most of) us going for AW? About being aesthetic and unique.

    About the accent..
    I'm Indian, and I don't mind :D

Because deep down, we are all trolls at heart! hehehehe

During the months heading to R3, spectulation ran so rampant, and how some people would rather wait for R4, even tho no official specs were out.

People were so fed up they made a fix thread about that and started deleting all others.

That's why people give such a harsh respponse when topics like that comes up, also, people buy Alienware because of the unique style, but also it's power.

The specs will be some obvious future-spec'd machine - so who cares about that I agree.

But the aesthetics? Yes - please something new. I would prefer a more BASIC looking machine, to be honest.

Ah.. but mostly nice troll in the surface :D

Um, do you mean BASIC as in Clevo lines? or rather retro like the original AW prior to merging w/ dell?

I think it looks fine how it is currently. I'd take performance over looks anyways.

I really wouldn't expect much of a refresh until Ivy Bridge anyhow. Maybe they will throw in a slightly faster CPU and/or GPU but that's about it, but probably still remain R3.

I'll be keeping my eye on Ivy Bridge refresh, but possibly picking up an R3 if I can get one for $600 in six months' time.

    Clevo like Cleveland?

    Cleveland FTW!

Well actually I'd like a less angled front and a smaller bezel. That's it! =)

A better screen would be great. Hopefully they implement it in the next revision, though I doubt they will.

I can't think of anything that would merit an R4 except for Ivy Bridge. And yes they NEED to include a better screen, or at least an upgradable option for one.
