the other day I used up the battery on my R3 and plugged it in and played some games and the adapter was super hot.. I really could not hold it.. I know that it has not been that hot before.. so I was wondering if gaming while charging causes extreme duty for the charger?
BTW I have the flat type charger with led around the plug

Mine gets hot all the time when charging or gaming. It uses more power, so it will get hotter.

Does doing both put a strain on the charger? I would say no. Maybe the normal strain of use. But they are rated for a specific wattage, and they generally won't go over that.

If you plug in a 65 watt adapter into a system the requires a 90w adapter. Its going to keep the performance down and slower then normal.
