Hi guys is it worth downloading for my m11x r1 or should i be waiting till i can afford a ps3.
The min specs for the game are kind of confusing.

Hmm I think I will give it a miss and stick with the FPS games. Best start saving for the ps3

^^ You won't be disappointed running it on the R1. I haven't tried it online yet ,just playing solo so far.

The game runs ok, but tends to be a bit choppy, even on lowest details settings and lower resolution.

It's still playable though and is a great game. Not sure if it my computer as many people have reported it running well on M11X. I am also outputting to external monitor so not sure if that makes a difference.

    if you go to your documents>my games>formulaone>hardwaresettings>hardware_settings_config.xml and change <shadows enabled="true" size='512' maskQuality="1" />
    to <shadows enabled="true" size='512' maskQuality="0" />

you should get about a 5fps boost. I got that from codemasters somewhere but I've lost the link!

    Cheers that does help.

Framerate is smooth most of the time with details on low. The only issue now is it does still become choppy every now and then. The gameplay will freeze for a fraction of a second, at which point I am usually in the gravel. I have to use all the flashbacks to correct it. This is a shame as the game is pretty awesome.

Yeah, I think I'll put the game on hold until the patch which may take a while. I got to monaco so far.

The new patch is a massive improvement, the benchmark gives me 35 fps on "high" settings and playing the game in cockpit view I race at about 30 fps it seems. I'm happy with it now.

you have to have a games for windows/ xbox live account to play online, and my game was patched through that despite buying it on steam.

I am running at 1280x720 on HDTV 4xaa high most settings except objects ultra vehicle reflections medium(after testing found this eats hard into FPS) post processing medium shadows medium cloth low
Goes without saying TS enabled EVGA O/C. Using Xbox wireless controller.
    Getting 35-40 smooth
Gameplay. 1.0.1 patch really helped. I posted some fraps stuff with similar settings in games thread.
I really like this game a lot. There are some issues still. No podiums, pace car, AI and collisions bit suspect and AI cars seem to be at warp speed when entering pits! But on the whole really good. I have the dark rings under my eyes to prove as playing career mode into the small hours last night. Now just need to find a way to stop my 18 month year old jumping on me at 0630!

Having said how great it was performing I'm now getting a really bad fps drop every few minutes, that lasts about 2 minutes before resolving. it goes from 30 fps down to about 14 fps. I have tried turning off turbo boost but it had no effect and my GPU is not overclocked or anything like that. Running latest verde drivers.

Have you tried using ThrottleStop (If you are running R2 that is)?

It seems to be better, I did a few things at the same time so I can't be sure which worked. Did powermizer, uninstalled nvidia 3d and re-patched the game. Raced valencia without any trouble :)

Agreed, I was running this game prior to the latest patch and was quite dissapointed at only 20fps on medium at 720p...

    Now I'm able to run at full 1080p on a 24" Screen at Medium/High settings with a steady 26 - 40 fps.

CPU overclocked in BIOS at 160.

I don't notice any choppy moments or lag what-so-ever but this may also be down to using an SSD.
