Anyone got a feel for this?

My i7 640UM at stock + TS ran about 1C hotter than my R1 SU7300 OC'd to 1.73 GHz, for your reference (same ambients).
The i7 has Turbo, and an 18W TDP, but that TDP figure includes the NB. All added up together, both the C2D and i7 have almost identical max TDP limits as a platform. -
Great info - I appreciate it!
+1 rep my man! -
But my i7 gets real hot while playing games on GPU, I bet it's hot here in Malaysia

Yeah, my fan ramped up to a berserker mode I didn't realize exists, last night during a session of SC2. Time to get out the air gun and clean it out, lol.

That is after 1 hour of playing Dirt 2 on the m11x, and still playing it, I paused the game to take the screen (on the extended screen)
The laptop does not feel hot, and I mean the keyboard, the touchpad, etc. -
Thanks Vidaluko - good to hear verbals, but I am a numbers guy! Was your CPU OC'd or stock?
-
No OC, and is a hot day around here...
-
lol, it's giving different temps for each thread o.0 I wasn't aware Intel added temp diodes on the setup engines... I always thought they were near the FPU or something like it...
-
Speedfan isn't giving you accurate temps. Use realtemp or throttlestop.

Curious, just HOW HOT does an R-2 i7 run vs an R-2 i5?
