Yes, open up nvidia control panel, go to change resolution and at the bottom theres an option called 'add resolution...' where you can create your own. enjoy

Based on past experiences with adding custom resolutions for certain cards and displays or TV's, it can sometimes be a huge pain in the butt. For those cases where the driver settings alone aren't sufficient for your targeted output then Power Strip is often a good tool to try. It has a pretty good EDID editor.

Add resolution is grayed out. I want one for the built-in display.

As I remember I can use a custom resolution on a 40" Sony HDTV but I couldn't on a 50" Panasonic. Bit hit and miss.

Picture was fine on the Sony HDTV watching Avatar DVD. I just proportionally adjusted the screen.

The R2's intel IGP driver allows you to add custom resolutions. Not sure about the R1. Again, I'd give Power Strip a look.

I tried both Intel and nVidia and neither allow custom resolutions. Of course they're using the older Intel GUI which is rather limited. I registered powerstrip years ago, I'll have to see if I can find my license. Although I screwed up one display using it so never used it again. I was kind hoping there was just a regedit or something to unlock the custom resolutions, but seems not.
