When I go to Intel and try and update the driver for the integrated graphics the website says that I have a custom Dell driver and won't let me update.

Should I not be trying to update the driver from Intel? I currently have 8.15.10.2202 drivers.

Where do you guys get drivers for the R2 and can I overwrite the Dell drivers?

Loading an intel graphics driver would cause you to lose the NVIDIA graphics card. (++ battery life) / Loading an NVIDIA graphics driver would cause you to lose the Intel integrated graphics. (-- battery life) / You need to use the hybrid drivers built by Dell if you want access to both.

I have to run NVIDIA drivers because Dell's crappy old driver doesn't support 2560x1600 resolution.

I've heard you can build a custom graphic driver with your own Intel / NVIDIA driver, but I don't know how to do it.

Hmm did not know that loading drivers from either Intel or nvidia would knowck out the other. Can someone else confirm this?

I updated my 335 with Nvidia's latest driver and I think the Intel still works
(according to the nvidia control panel no activity on the 335 as I type this)

    This is for a R2

When updating either driver, be sure you always install in this order -

    1. Intel Display Driver
    2. NV Optimus Driver

Optimus based systems must have the Intel Display Driver installed first.

I suggest when updating to a new version, always install both just to keep it all consistent.

I didn't see a any posting on where to get the latest intel drivers. When I go to Intel themselves they say I have a custom Dell driver and won't net me download.

There are other topics with the intel drivers, current intel drivers, those work for the m11x, because even with those, if you go to the intel site, it says are custom and can´t be upgraded...

    My current is: 8.15.10.2291

I used the latest intel graphics drivers from their site (not Dell), and optimus still kicks in when it needs to, so I don't think this is true.

Also, I have yet to update my nvidia graphics drivers, because, to be honest, I'm running everything I want to (mostly SC2 on high (shadows med/lighting med), with playable fps by late game 3v3) and I don't want to risk any performance degradation. I may try newer ones tonight and rollback drivers if I see performance degrade.

So...will dell be making Hybrid compatible drivers for 266 nVidia drivers?
