What the heck is Hamburg-SH E235863?

Well it's that important flat flex cable that connects your power button panel to your motherboard.

Why is it important? Because without it or if it's defective, you can't power on your Alienware.

So why would anyone be dumb enough to break this cable? No one. It'll break on it's own, sooner or later. For alienware that's one year and above older, there is a high risk of breaking the cable, especially when you occasionally open up your laptop for cleaning or mods. When you remove the cable from the secure pin, you double the risk

Why would it break? Like all earthly things, it's subject to wear and tear. Usually the pins will fall off...

So what if it breaks, I could get a new one. Well goodluck, for these Hamburg-SH E235863 cables are hard to find and are you willing to pay $35+ (website price) and shipping for that single cable?

So what can we do to avert this impending doom? There must be a way...

    And there is:)

You can make a DIY Hamburg-SH E235863 cable by using standard DVD/CD flat flex cables:)
These cables are quite easy to find and quite cheap ($1-2). You can also open up your old dvd players and you might find these cables. Take note that this cable must have reverse pins on the ends.

They usually have 24-26 pins. To make it a hamburger err I mean hamburg , just cut the excess pins to make it 16....

Credit goes to a fellow Alienware enthusiasts that gave me this tip and personally helped me in making one:)

Here are the cables. Above is the sinister Hamburg Cable: Below is a life saver; a DVD flex cable

After cutting the excess pins, you can now use it and throw away hamburg.

This is the thing you want after successfully reviving your Alienware :)

Very nice! It's always a pain trying to replace these terribly unique cables.
