I've seen only a samsung with this technology but wouldn't it be nice for small screen netbooks to be able to transmit to a big screen wirelessly? Or would this be too slow for gaming?

DLNA isn't for screen sharing - it's for media sharing. You can use any Windows 7 computer to easily send pictures, videos and music to a DLNA-enabled device. I just tested this last night with my M11x and it works very well, except for HD content being a little bit low-quality. I'm disappointed that I can't send the web browser, YouTube or Hulu this way, but that's the way it is for now. I keep hoping someone will write a screen-sharing UPnP server that would work with DLNA, but can't find anything yet.
It would, however, be much too slow for gaming - video via DLNA lags about two seconds behind the computer commands in my setup. What you might do for that is use a regular HDMI cable & wireless keyboard and mouse. Logitech make a couple in the DiNovo line which work great for this.
DNLA in netbooks?
