Hello
Very pleased with my new laptop; however, could not connect online with my wireless card .I do have another laptop at home and it can connect with a wireless connection. The m11x can be connected with a wired connection.
I am running a Windows 7 home premium.
I have tired updating the DW1520 off the dell website, unticking TCP6 (which shouldnt make any difference), enabling and disabling driver, typing IP address and DNS server manually. I've got it connected a few times but then whenever I restart the computer it just says connections are available and when I click to connect on my connection it says that it could not connect also one other thing when I click to connect to my network it doesn't even ask me to enter my wep key.
I could really use some help as I am just completely out of ideas and I really don't want to send it back in cos I've only just received it.

Could it be that my router is incompatible I have a linksys WRT54GS. Someone who had the same problem as me said that their router was incompatible and had to upgrade do you think mine could be the same? Unfortunately I don't have another router to test this on so at the moment i'm stuck.

Just some things to try..
Try turning off authentication on the router and broadcasting the SSID.
You won't want to leave it in that state though, just enough to check it.
Also have you tried any other router?
Also you could try a different channel like 1 or 11, I get a lot of interference in the mid channels from cordless phones where I am. -
I did reformat my Alienware m11x R1 this weekend. Used the driver that came with the resource disk which was the A01. Encountered the same situation as yours where I tried connecting to my router but it doesn't give me a chance to enter my WEP key. It straight away gave me an error message not being able to connect. I did download the new driver off the Dell website and it seems to have fixed the issue for me.
