I was wondering if anyone has gotten Dead Island for their m11xr1/2/3. Does it run well on low/medium/high? I love zombies but I really want to know if it runs well or decent atleast before I buy it for PC

Go check the gaminG thread....
-
On auto-detect settings, it smoothly runs around 4x fps. But I dont know why the intro "Techland" video is very lag at the beginning of the game. And this game has so many bugs, some lead to crash eventually.
-
Perfect on mine, maxed out with video.scr mods (4096 shadows) 4x AA.
Never dips below 40fps! (No doubt because the FOV is so tiny) -
Good to know. Can't wait for a price drop hahaha. Is it worth it?
-
So on an m11x r1 with a bios cpu oc this will run at 40 fps consistently at max settings? Was thinking of getting this on 360 but if that's the case may get the pc release.
-
Thats what it seems. Except it seems very buggy right now. The best PC games are those released solely for the PC imo.
Which is unfortunate.
-
Tbh its not really that buggy, most of the problems can be sorted by reading the fixes thread on steam forums. Working perfectly here for me, would recommend it even with the bugs, no doubt the bugs will be sorted within the next month or so.
-
Sounds good. Too bad I gotta save up for BF3/Space marine and such.
guess I will wait for them to fixed and get it during a price drop.
-
Give it a month it'll be 50% off
-
My point exactly
-
Some screenshots of MAXED graphics with video.scr edit (4096 shadows) 4x AA and 82.5 FOV MOD.
The FOV MOD makes the framerate dip a little unfortunately.
-
What I did was purchase a 4 pack and split it 4 ways between my friends. If you can't wait, just convince 3 other people to pay $37.50 and get the 4 pack on steam.
-
Yeah I pre-ordered this for 360, and I'm pretty satisfied. I may scoop it up to play with my PC friends if there's a Steam firesale.
Is it worth it? That depends on what type of gamer you are. If you've ever played Borderlands, you can see right away where Dead Island got its inspiration. In fact, Dead Island feels like Left 4 Dead, Far Cry, and Borderlands were all mixed up into one big bowl and this is the end product.
Overall it's good. The story is weak, but that's not really why you're playing a game like this. The style is very good, and the soundtrack is very fitting for the mood as well. I liked it, but then again, I'm a huge zombie fan so I may be a little biased.
My only complaint is that playing a game like this single-player can get very tedious very fast. The difficulty also ramps up significantly, almost to the point where they don't *want* you to play this game alone. Unless you have a bunch of friends to play with, I would seriously give this game a pass. Then again, I said the same thing about Borderlands back when it was new. This is a co-op game, plain and simple... and yes you can technically play it alone, but it gets very dull very fast. -
Care to post your video.scr file please? I just got it and it's stuttering like crazy for me on my new R3. Not sure what the best settings are for the m11x as far as editing the video.scr file. Thanks! -
this game runs great.. everything maxed out. i dont know my fps but i never have any slow down..
i got bored of the game the first time i played it.. too much the same thing over and over.. but gave it a second chance and now im sucked into it.. -
Much easier than mucking around with editing the video.scr, sounds like the problem you are having is due to the keyboard microstutter bug. Just enable the option to fix it in that software.
The reason this happens is because Dead Island is processing multiple keystrokes (when you press and hold a button) and this gives the microstutter. -
I finally got my dead island to play on my m11x r2, the optima wasnt kicking in and it was a pain finding the exe file to manually assign the nvidia chip to the game. it was driving me nuts getting 7 fraps
-
Just thought I'd throw this video up because of the sale. Performance is great on my R3. It's on high and constantly above 40fps (30fps with fraps on).
Let's play some Dead Island [M11x R3] - YouTube
