Ok so to update on my post before. I have managed to oc with core at 800 and memory at 1100. However I have some questions, firstly I still dont have a slider for shader? just core and memory. Secondly, when upping the core to 800 it only shows 797 and says GPU throttling -3 underneath it in Kombuster?

    Any ideas?

    Tom.

EDIT: Just like to add, I gave Skyrim a quick play and my FPS has jumped massively, I have even upped the settings to ultra high and still getting between 25-45 fps with fraps open! Well happy I tried this now!

my drivers are the 197.xx so i can keep the switchable graphics, i didnt find any difference in OC stability no matter what drivers i used so im sticking with the originals.

as for not having a slider for the shader i know that the new 600 series desktop cards dont have it, are you using the latest drivers? if so that could be your problem, simply go back to the old 200 series drivers.

Ahhhh, nevermind the shader clock is linked with the core clock, thanks for the guide it's just not shown in the new afterburn version i guess.

    Yes and no.

By default, it's not shown but you can change the interface to legacy in options and it'll show up.

I see mostly R1 and R2 overclocking talks but just for reference sake, i thought i would chip in with my R3.

I have successfully overclocked it to ... 797/1080/1600

Not totally sure about the shader 1600, could be around 1597, i rounded it to what i remember doing at the time and i know i am very close to 1600Mhz shader.

As soon as i go above 800Mhz core clock, my games crashes and the drivers re initialize.

Now temps, running CPU at around 85c and GPU 88c with this overclock. Have a cooler U2 with three fans underneath and i use nvidia tools for this. I prefer this because it is part of the nvidia combo.

I play at 720p and FPS are 50-30 ...... once in a while it goes to 29fps during hard battles but otherwise all good.

I noticed that if i cap the fps to 30, my gpu doesn't work as much and often run at 86%usage but if i cap 50fps, the cpu stays in the 96%-99% usage.

One weird thing though that maybe someone here can enlighten me about, say i set the cap to 50fps ok and i am gaming and gpu is at 96% usage but i am only getting like 44fps , why doesn't the GPU use up the extra 4% usage to come to 99% and give me some extra fps ??.
