I was talking with someone from Dell's website, I told him, that in Intel's web site the price of the I7 is 289$!! and I5 is 250$!! 39$ diferrent between the I5 to the I7... so I told him, WHY 300$ BETWEEN I5 AND I7!?! so, he told me that the I7-2617M has 4 Cores, so I showed him that he was wrong by this site: Intel® Core? i7-2617M Processor (4M Cache, 1.50 GHz)with SPEC Code(s)SR03T .After that, he left to talk with the market team of Dell, and they told him(me) that the i7-2617M with the 2 Cores is a lie, OR, at Dell's website, they offer you the "2nd Gen. of i7-2617M" with 4 Cores, and at Intel's website, its the 1st Gen. of i7-2617M!!!(I'm still trying to find if the 2nd Gen. of i7-2617M is exist... and I CANT FIND) PLUS, they (Market team of Dell) told me that the GT 540 2GB support Nvidia's 3D technology!!! and the GT 540 1GB doesn't!! !!! WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO !?!? TO STEAL MORE CASH UH!?!?!?!?!?

The 2617 has four virtual cores, more correctly called threads. It's not an out-and-out lie, but it's a grey area.

Technically, with hyperthreading, there are 4 cores. 2 physical, 2 virtual. The sales rep probably didn't know the difference. Nobody ever describes a CPU's number of cores by including HT cores (since they're virtual), only physical. However, most software applications tend to view them as cores.
He goofed.
Again, 2 physical cores + 2 hyperthreading cores. -
I wouldn't ever trust what the reps say regarding specs of the laptops. I just look at the specs on the site and do my own research.

Pretty much all of NVIDIA's videocards support 3D technology, you just need a 3D display.
-
I was talking about "
# of Cores 2"
they told me it should be 4 cores or the 1st Gen....
about the nVidia, maybe its my bad :S but that what they told me, that the 1GB doesn't support, and the 2GB support... -

I ordered the new R3 with the upgraded CPU and it said it came with a 540 video card... now in email it is saying an Nvidia GT430 which was never even an option. Anyone else experience this?

Dell lied to me about M11x-R3's CPU and video card!?
