    Hi,

I am a owner of a M11XR2 and i haven't played the Beta of D3 yet. I was wondering if someone tried it, did you have any problems running it ? Did you have to set the graphics to low ? Any issues ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Louis

On R3, I ran Diablo 3 beta on high rather comfortably.

Have an i7 R3 myself and it ran like a dog if shadows were on, shadow's are just an absolute no no if you want a smooth experience.

Like another user said here the game run's fine on high settings until you start running into a lot of monsters that's before your laptop has to start processing the other players around you.

For me it will be shadows off and ground clutter off that's what i found to be a stable 40-60 fps experience.

It's playable. Expect framerate drops with crowded mobs, lots of spell effects, or multiple characters on-screen. It seems playable though.

Anyone encounter BSOD while playing Diablo 3 on R2? my wife has had it twice now while playing.

I'm on an R3 and playing fine so not sure what the problem could be, her machine is up to date with latest drivers.

im having some major issues playing in a group with the r3. it seems like the longer i play in a group, the worse the frame rate drops. after about 40 mins or so, in big battle areas the FPS is around 10-15, sometimes dipping below 10.

i have all settings on low or off, i tried multiple diff res' with not much help. updated drivers.

a little frustrated that this isnt handling the game right now. any tips?

How can I get the newest Nvidia drivers for my m11x r2? I am having serious cinematic/freezing issues but I only have 2 GB downloaded? Not sure if that makes a difference.

    just go to nvidia.

i am on m11xr2, and have been getting great FPS (50+ no problem)...

however, the one BIG issue ive encountered is random BSODs (ive been googling and seen many posts on this across the interwebz). Unfortunately, i have not tested with the new drivers (i got off Battle net to install and the servers were down from 830-12 last night). Hoping that fixes it

unplayable? i am at level 15, just finished act 1, and had 0 problem with 4 ppl.

it slowed down SLIGHTLY (to 25-35fps) in huge zones, but the beta was dropping to 10-15, they seemed to have fixed something.

on 720 p with 2 people in the party on every thing low or off, i get a huge range of fps with this game. goes from like 50-60 down to 10 RANDOMLY. it takes about 2 minutes to recover, then pops back up to 30's, then goes back up to 50's.

i dont understand it. hopefully theres a patch released or newer drivers released (even tho i have 301.4 right now...)

For the guy who blue screened I have BSOD once, I just downlocked my GPU a little as it was the same type of crash that I get with league and the matter hasn't come up again.

Most people should remember that this is Blizzard, and they put a lot of pressure on the CPU in their games. Throttlestop seems to help a lot here, though I'm still getting some lag with massive mobs. I haven't tried it in a party yet, one can hope that they optimize this game better with a few patches.

there seems to be a TON of BSOD info around in various forum posts. no rhyme or reason of course, just internet mess.

Just tried again, with a mild OC.

Now the settings are Everything High except Shadows and AA on and LowFX not checked. With a party of 3 people i get about 60-75 FPS. Lowest i ever got was about 40. Cant complain, works like a charm! This was a huge improvement over the beta as well!

Playing with textures high, AA off and everything else on low and managing 40-60 FPS outwith combat and 20-30 in combat with 2 other players. I'm actually surprised that the game works this well on the R1!

Playing on my R3 @ 1920x1080 via 42" plasma and everything runs great on mid-high settings. No visible lag at all, and I've been playing with mates. Literally runs no different than when it was @ 1366x768.

What drivers are you all on?

I am having some odd BSOD issues- i played for 3.5 hrs tonight no problem, then got a BSOD, then loaded back up and within 10 min of d3, got another BSOD. Same thing happened once more.

I looked to see if it was a overheat, but the log had steady temps for both cpu and gpu.

    Any ideas?

    i am using throttle stop. OC 160. m11xr2 i7

    Tried it,
seems to work, usually i rand MSI to the OC standard for the R2 and got BSOD. Downcloacked to 425 and it seem to work, games seems more fluid.

But my question is if you set it at 425, do you still use the other setting for the other components? ( I don't remember the name of those components but the last two).

I've been playing D3 for the past 2 days estimate of 14 hours in; very skeptic at first since I never played the beta and based on the comments here, it didn't seem possible. Well it is for all you R1 users.

I upgraded to a SSD on the same day so it was a fresh install of W7(default power options). During the 1st day, I was playing with shadows and density off. The texture and physics low including sound to lowest. It was playable. At no point did it dip under 12FPS. You do get hit with lag from fps drop but my char was manageable. It was the best I could do for some reason after messing around.

The 2nd day was different because I forgot to put power plan in power options to High Performance mode the day before  . Previously, my W7 was tweaked but the fresh install caused me to forget certain tweaks and modifications. My 3DMark06 immediately jumped back to 7300s from 6300-6600s before. My current settings are highs for texture/physics and shadows/density still off. It seems best this way even at huge mobs. It is like playing at the previous experiences before but with better graphics. Read my sig for my specs.

Lowest fps was at 12 in 4 man battle in huge mob. Highest was about 45fps 4 man. Average from 28-35 throughout 4man. Fluctuates so hard to tell. Based fps on FRAPS program. Low FX not checked.

    The R1 Lives!

Try setting power plan to High Performance for people with issues.

P.S. - Hi Vlad I'm back. Failed on 2.0ghz pinmod. Gave up.

PPL are suggesting Nvidia System tools, EVGA Precision, or MSI Afterburner.

i havent tried yet, but its the first thing im doing when i get home.

MSI Afterburner, downclock core clock to 425....profit?

I don't know about down-clocking. For the R1, that would be a bad idea since CPU is already dragging it down. I think your VC is well capable of handling it as long as you find the right overclock speeds. Of course every board is different. I'm using Precision Legacy to OC the 335. I've been using MSI since I owned my R1 a year ago but after redoing a test to get the best D3 play, I went with Precision for higher overclocks. I'm using the 263.08 driver still. I messed with optimus but didn't like the battery life: reason why I chose R1 over R2 at the time. I almost regret buying it because of the R3 release shortly after but I'm glad R1 is holding it down on it's own terms.

I'm aware you mention GPU. That is why my post talked about the GPU more by stating MSI and EVGA . I only stated the CPU because I meant if I downclock VC, it would bring down more performance for a R1 based on CPU bottleneck. I do use MSI Kombustor for stability testing.

Current Settings are working fine for me now. Physics/Density/Texture High and Shadows off. Shadows low or med might work but I don't care for it anyway. Again sound is still set at lowest. Dont care for that either.

No problem. Just trying to help. I wonder why I'm not having any issues yet on my R1 while many R2 members are. I am using old driver though; 263.08.

Current Settings - High for Texture, Physics, and Density. Off for Shadows (low-med options works for me, didn't try high).
    Range: 12FPS-61FPS, Estimate Average: 30FPS

    Hi guys,

Ive been looking for a thread that validates whether the r1 can handle diablo 3. Ive a question though. My video card doesnt have an updated driver, its still at 188.55. I heard that i should update it to 296.10. Should i be expecting any problems? What should i tweak in my laptop?

    Thanks.

Btw, my cpu isnt overclocked, still at 1.3

iirc the R1 must use the drivers form Dell? As it does not have optimus.

You will need to overclock your CPU to 1.6GHZ/1.73GHZ (depending on which R1 you have). Videocard varies but OC recommended over stock speed. I do not use the latest drivers because I prefer battery life over optimus and manual switch is so much better IMO. The games I play do not need a better driver for improve stability so I don't see a need to update. I'm running 263.08 driver from Dell. Keep your settings to modest for Diablo 3. Work your way up. Don't recommend shadow on or cluster density although it is playable until certain areas or facing certain creatures. High Settings for Physics/Texture is enough to have a great experience in D3 with 4 people on the R1. Don't expect smooth play. FPS will drop during big fights and you might experience that slight lag from that FPS drop but the game is still playable. Lowest settings for Texture/Physics don't have this problem for me but I play with the two high settings at the moment.

The game has been running fine on my R1. I was playing with 3 other players last night and there are very few moments where I get slow downs. Even then it's completely playable and only a mild annoyance.

I'm running an R1 with 1.6ghz overclock, 4gb ram and the Dell GPU drivers. I'm on a fresh install of windows 7 and I run Gamebooster 3. Try and turn off or down anything that is CPU intensive, as that is your bottleneck. I'm pretty sure my settings are as follows: Textures on high, shadows off, physics on low, clutter density on low, Anti-Aliasing off, Low FX on and I've been running it at 720p to my 42" LCD or 27" LCD. The game still looks fine and like I said it is more then playable. I'm very happy I don't need to upgrade just yet (Though I'm eyeballing the new Sager NP6110). Hope this helps you R1 users!

On my R1 - Diablo III runs without any lag at all, even in boss battles with 4 players, and all settings are on high with shadows on medium and AA on. GPU is stock and CPU's @ 1.6GHz.
