Anyone in the beta tried this on an R3 can share their experiences?
Thanks.
-
beta runs great on R2... should be butter on an R3 ;D
-
What settings are you running it on?
-
Anyone on the R1? I'm looking to upgrade this summer but would like to get a few months out of my R1 with Diablo 3 before I do.
-
yea same, wondering how well the r1 runs it
-
I ran it on a r1, it works, but it drops frames when you are fighting things.
Walking around is ok though. -
What settings were you using when the frames dropped? Hopefully it was a beta thing as all other Blizz games run like gold on the R1.
-
Yeah it was beta testing. It didnt let me change any settings.
-
-
i guess ill wait for the full game gets tested on the r1 before buying it -
Even on high config there's problem , so we just have to wait for retail to have a good idea of how it looks.
Anyway , Blizzard always make games that run on low cfg ... -
I run diablo 3 and runs pretty smooth, except for the beta problem that lags when fighting, everything else looks great
- ill post the config later, since im at school -
-
oh nice, thanks! im not sure i should get it though, i had a really bad d2lod addiction that took over a few years haha
-
Here's my experience. Diablo 2 beta on M11x R2 - stock clock speed, latest nvidia drivers.
Diablo 3 (Beta) on the Alienware M11x R2 - YouTube -
-
Worrying that you pretty much had to turn everything off, M11x R2 should be able to max this game ffs
-
nice video - curious how it runs on 1080p output, but looks like 40+ fps -
-
The ULV's just don't cut it for me i love my laptop but damn if they just put a normal processor in there i'm sure the gains would be great.
Will see how my R3 performs come release if it chugs i'll be dissapointed. -
I've been playing the hell out of the beta and it only ever chugs a little on my R3 when the screen is filled with enemies that are casting/getting killed in HUGE numbers, otherwise it's silky smooth with all of the details cranked to the fullest.
On a R3 i5, 6GB. -
Can you be more specific though on the fps your getting in high monster situations? Does it go below 30fps? -
I'll download fraps and let you know later
The high monster situations that I speak of only happen twice* during the whole 2-3 hours of the beta so not very often, at all.
The i7 will help a little I imagine though I don't think 8GB of RAM will make any difference compared to 6GB in this case, if you run it at native resolution on the M11X's little screen then the game is perfectly fine but I don't have an external monitor to test the game out with at the moment so can't be any more specific, sorry.
In short, the game runs brilliantly
*that is to say, there are only two situations that I've noticed that can tax the r3 enough to drop frames and they are extremely mob heavy compared to the rest of the beta and last about a minute to half a minute so overall, not a problem and still easily playable! -
Cheers for reply
so you have everything maxed then? Good to know I could perhaps fiddle with the shadow settings to squeeze some extra fps
-
I'm surprised it runs as well as it does. -
So I bought a new M11x specifically for D3. It better run fine!
i7 w/ 2Gb GT540, 8Gb RAM, 128 Gb SSD. Should be fine?! I hope. Anyone? I never got the beta invite so I can't try. -
I hate to ask something slightly off topic. but does the R2 need to turn everything off just to make it run?
-
Also remember this is BETA so a few updates later this will be running smooth as butter. Dont forget the R3 can run the likes of Battlefield 3 at medium 30fps so Diablo 3 should not cause it a problem.

OPEN DIABLO 3 BETA this weekend, starts noon today!
ill be testing it on an r1 with stock settings [su7300, 4gb, 335m]
so for those wondering how itll run, here's your chance to find out! -
Hoping it runs smooth as on the R3.
-
Just played D3 beta on my newly acquired M11x R3 (specs in sig) and it runs smoothly with all settings maxed out, slightly choppy when there are many enemies/objects on screen but it's not that bad.
I can see myself spending so much time on it come May 15th. ;> -
-
Yeah, I get that when my connection is terrible.
It's either the connection or graphic issue. (When I get disconnected or get very high latency, D3 goes dark and I can't move, but everything else is moving fine, like the health/mana ball.)
But yeah, since it's in open beta now, servers are under heavy load and latency's higher. -
I5, 6GB Ram; played a couple hours of beta. Runs 40+ FPS normally, dips below 30FPS in crowded areas. All in all, satisfied with performance of my R3!

I have BSOD after 15min...m11x r2 i5/8g/gt 335m driver 285.62...someone help me!?
-
m11x r1 with stock everything
textures on high, shadows off, physics low, clutter off, anti alias on, low fx checked, 1680x1050 res
v synch unchecked
max foreground framate set to 60, starting test with fraps now
pretty smooth actually if you keep it all off, it stays around 40 and then drops to around 27
so i turned the shadows to low [high is NO GO, just standing still brought fps to 17] and lets see what happens
nope, shadows on low kill your fps, you get to 30 standing around but with stuff moving itll get to 15 or lower
m11x r1 you can play this game, just keep textures on high with everything save AA off/lowest -
how are you in combat amd? seems like sometimes i get a few enemys on my screen and it freezes up, not sure if its my laptop or just latency, i got a r3 hmm
-
I maxed out my settings, it runs fine. Also playing as Witch Doctor with a few summons.
-
-
graphics on high
shadows on low
AA on, physics low
I get roughly ~ 50 fps. Also, it sometimes lags, as in I will be running, and will disapear and be at the location i was about 1 second ago. Sometimes when alot of explostions and enemies the FPS can drop to even 20 fps. Do you guys find this normal as well? And the people who are running it on max, do you have physics on high, shadows on high as well? What kind of fps are you guys getting? -
There an FPS meter?
I run a M11X i7 R3 8gig of ram had shadows turned off completely rest on high and well i'm pretty disapointed with how the m11x performs on a game that was basically built from tech 3 years ago ;/
Not impressed tbh. -
Did some tests with Fraps and with everything on High and shadows completely turned off it rarely went below 30fps it was mostly 50-60 in most area's but when you get a lot of enemies on screen and 4 players are using all their toys the FPS drops to around 30.
At the end of the day the CPU is what holds the M11X back and it always has.
Tests done on M11xR3 latest i7 processor/540m/8GIG RAM/using laptop screen resolution. -
-
I don't understand how you guys are getting at least PLAYABLE performance. Mine hangs around 30fps when there is little action going on, but it drops down to like 15ish when i'm engaging a big group, then big clutters like the four pillars area before King Leoric it drops down to 5fps.
Btw, I run on the same settings as most the guys here, pretty much everything off or low and I made sure to whitelist it. -
Have you tried game booster? or programmes of that ilk?
-
Full Screen (windowed) and low shadows tends to do a world of difference when it comes to an FPS increase.
-
Turn shadows completely off, low shadows aren't worth the processing power anyway.
Not sure how the R2 performs, I can only assume the processor holds it back like the R3.
I bought my R3 in December and im really starting to regret not just getting a M14 these days. -
ima be testing it with textures off and in 4 player games today and will let yall know how it runs on the r1
-
My game runs fine on the R3, Only problems im getting are loading lag, Which from others ive heard its not the laptop but the servers themselfs, There lagged out to . Playing over wireless doesnt help aswell
Diablo 3 M11X R3 how does it run?
