So I have the first generation of M11X.. SU7300 overclocked.
I played the beta and when running solo I was doing fine with medium/high specs, no lag what so ever but as soon as i joined a coop game I would lag even with the lowest specs...
Can I run it says my CPU is not strong enough, yet I can still play solo with fairly good specs. Can the fact that I play with 3 more players cause so much lag? Or is it the game and the servers? Should I be fine when the game comes out? Big risk or am I safe?
-
It's the game and the numbers of players.
Even M11x R3 lags when there are players, whether that'll get better or not when D3 is released, I don't know. -
And Im guessing Can I run it says the R3 is fine right?

take a look there, i did some tests
pretty much you will want to OC your GPU and update to the latest drivers, but even still it will be a bit choppy in 4 player games, like itll drop to 8 fps or so with all lowest settigns -
how do I OC my GPU and where do I go to update the latest drivers for my GPU?
thanks a lot -
Damn, the game doesn't even look advanced!
-
Its the ULV processors that let the M11x down, the rest is fine the game is very processor heavy.
-
Is it possible to change my processor now or impossible? Can I upgrade for a i7 or i5 now or too late?
-
Completely different architecture, sockets, and even generation. Not to mention the CPU's are soldered onto the motherboards. So no, you can not upgrade your CPU.
-
The difference between i5 and i7 isn't huge. -
-
Well, it's possible but for everyone else, they're better off replacing the whole motherboard or selling the system and get an identical one with better specs. ;>
-
Yeah, i5/7 wont go, but the su9600 may... but a pin mod will net you nearly the same as the su9600.
-
So nothing I can do to help with the CPU issue? (other than change computer all together)
/edit whats a pin mod?
Im a noob when it comes to all this stuff.. -
Go here, then click the pin mod.

In pin mod, should I be good to play D3? or will I still be short?
-
Not sure, you will have to ask someone who has the pin mod. You might still come up short on it.
-
Should I make a new thread and clearly ask Has anyone tried d3 with pin mod on a R1?
-
No, there are some threads on it already. Do a search for one of those ones and ask there.

Here they say that its a problem with the old design of the r1 cpu that holds it back from playing it.
Otherwise, you can ask here.

i dont think a little bit more power will give you the oomph it needs
of what we've played of d3, we're in small areas and with small battles, when you get the bigger ones, even a pinmod might not be enough, as r2 users are having some issues, and even r3 owners are turning stuff down -
read my experience on the other thread R1 users

I can't play D3 on my M11x R1 because it says "We have detected that your video card is not supported by Diablo III
Operating system: Windows 7
Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 series Express Chipset Family"
Now I did the driver updates and it still recognizes as the intel 4 series.... Help?? -
