    The main differences between the two are processor selection and the external finish of the machine. The R1's were coated in a glossy finish and were available with either a Core 2 Duo or Pentium processor. The R2 versions are available in a black matte "soft touch" coating and have Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processor options depending on region availability.

    Optimus is only available on the icore processors (the R2). The R1 uses a manual switch for the graphics cards (FN +F6).

    That's exactly the opposite of the case :p

    Without Optimus, one uses fn-f6. With Optimus, one must whitelist programs to specify which GPU to use. If you don't know how to do that, a quick search of the forum should turn up the thread with precise directions.

    Error!
    Line 12: Input ["How to use Optimus"]-->corwinicre(input);
    Function has returned error: Function is inoperative.

    I also believe the R1 have VGA-out port, which the R2 doesnt have
    So which 1 have the better feel and look? :)
    Base on your words i love looking at the R1 and touching the R2 :p

    Is it only for the R2? Because I don't have a "R1" on mine... :(

    At any rate, the CPU sticker on the underside would be the other giveaway :p

    One more visible difference: The R1 has a VGA port, the R2 does not.
