Is there a way to make it so that if a game uses a 800x600 resolution, it still fills up the entire screen? I've tried looking for solutions and was first told to change my settings via the NVIDIA control panel, but I don't seem to have that option. My second advice was to check the Intel Control Panel, but I did so to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I haven't had any success with this, however, you can set a custom resolution on the Intel Graphics Properties. I use 1024x576 and 1152x648. Refresh rate at 60. Color Depth at 32. I run crysis 2 at 1152x648 and it still looks awesome on my R2

Why two separate ones, if I may ask? If I were to stick with just one, which would be preferable?

LOL that's very strange because I did the exact same thing though I run crysis 2 on 1024x576 and it still looks good and I think it's a good balance between definition + playable framerates. 848x480 I also have but with the high FPS the definition is just not there at least with 1024x576 it hardly looks any different to 1280x720.

Isn't there an aspect ratio option in the Intel control panel (next to the option to change aspect ratio). I've only checked in R1 drivers though.

    cool.

though i think it depends on the engine like source games can be handled at 720p easily but the cryengine needs just needs that bit more.

me thinks they should have done COD on source really!

sadly my screen is only refresh rate of 59.999794545 not even a solid 60 hz... but none the less I seem to be able to force frequencies in certain games like css for example. by using the launch command -refresh or -freq... I usually set it at 75, 85, or 100... Each of these will strech the screen if I am using a 4:3 (8x6)
    hope that helps

the only way you can scale not 16:9 resolutions is to select one like 800x600 or 1024x768 and an option calling scaling will appear. select "maintain aspect ratio" and it should be all good.

    Check the "Fullscreen" option in-game....

If not then just change your resolution...

EDIT: You can also press F11

    Seemed kinda obvious IMO

Selecting fullscreen when using a resolution with a different ratio to my monitor will result in black borders, which was what I did not want.

I thought that much was obvious.

And on a less obvious note, I don't want to have to change my resolution every time I play a game. I only want a lower resolution for FPS gain. I do other work on my laptop as well and in those instances, I DO prefer my native resolution. It'd be way too much of a hassle to change back and forth between multiple resolutions.

Would this option appear in-game or are you referring to changing the settings through the Intel Graphics Options?

There is no option for custom resolutions in Intel Graphics Properties on the M11x (R1 at least).

Thanks for the suggestion, but it appears that the F11 method works only for Minecraft and not the games I want to play. But saving custom resolutions works fine. It allows me to access them exclusively in-game while exiting the game returns me to my good ol' native. Thanks for the help everyone!
