I am planning to purchase a SSD drive sometime in the near future and was wondering of anyone knew if the m11xR3 supported SSD SATA III Or just up to SATA II?

    Thanks.

I believe all sandybridge platform intel based boards support SATA 6GB/s.

Agreed with BestRider - however, they also have SATA 3GB/s connections (many more 3GB/s connections on desktop boards and only 2 6GB/s). Question is did Alienware build in the 3GB/s connections or the 6GB/s connections???

Funny thing, is doesn't say anything in the manual..:| So I'm not sure, I checked the online service manual and there's no info there..As well as a softcopy of the actual manual in the box..it only says SATA lol..How careless of Dell to not even indicate the specific port of the HDD..:|
