Does the M11X soundcard support ether of these? Does it use SPDIF?

Just wondering how you get in game 5.1 out of the M11X when hooked up to a 5.1 receiver?

On my Desktop my Creative XFi uses Dolby Live to encode in game 5.1 to pass it over SPDIF. It works well.

    Cheers

no SPDIF connector, however the 335M allows me to use HDMI/DisplayPort and output audio to my TV. I'm assuming it's 5.1, as that's kind of a standard feature these days.

I'm not sure if it will be in game or not. Movie's will be as they pass through directly.

    It does not.
    Yep.
You'd hook the M11X up to a 5.1 receiver with an HDMI cable - this is capable of carrying multi-channel audio without needing to compress it as DD or DTS.
As above, SPDIF has been replaced with HDMI.
If your receiver only has an SPDIF input, you're out of luck.
If it's got a set of Analogue inputs, you can use those to connect the M11X's Analogue outputs directly.

I'm pretty sure it does support HDMi.

Have you noticed if your games are full 5.1 or just films?
