    Hey Guys,
I just wanted to throw out there that with the i7 I've gotten the Dolphin emulator running at a VERY playable 25-30 frames per sec. Being able to play through Twilight Princess, Metal Gear Solid - The Twin Snakes and the new Super Mario Bros. ect.. is amazing for this little laptop. The emulator was pretty decent at normal cpu speeds but once I overclocked to 180 and used throttlestop the gaming is down right awesome! I haven't seen anyone validating this so this in case anyone else was wondering what this little machine is capable of... :)

I have the I5 overclocked with throttlestop but it's pretty unplayable for me. FPS down to 3-4 in places. This is with mario kart.

I know some games are more intense than others. For example I can play New Super Mario Brothers at 166 overclock and TS, and maybe even without overclocking and TS if I recall correctly. However Mario Kart also lags for me.

I forgot to add I'm also using Gamebooster. Don't know if that would make a difference for anyone else.

Is all about the game, some will run perfect, some will not, not even with TS and OC...

Emulation is all about the CPU....

    I loved the Gamecube!

Although my Wii just broke you guys are scratching the itch with this thread! Now you have me worried! Will my impending i5 be able to play some of these games?

Should I call Dell and make them throw an i7 in it. I just didn't want to pay for the upgrade, as for normal wear and tear and the slightly older PC games I like to play will probably run just fine.

This is a useful forum. Why are you using it to discuss software piracy ?

I play backups that I already own on my wii. Think that's allowed.

Enough said Internet evangelists. I've sPent thousands of dollars on Nintendo products alone over the years. In 1994 my Dad had me total my collection since the NES days and I was already a few grand deep.

I've bought SMB3 at Least 4 times. So yeah, I feel pretty alright with a virtual machine. I also never try to cheat the system and download console games to play on a console. Retail is just a better experience. If I'm at work or a coffee shop I'm not lugging my old PS2 or Snes around with me.

Society doesn't let criminals write the law. whatever justifications you all are making, using this is a crime, in fact a felony.

That's bad enough. But then you are going beyond that, and encouraging others to do the same thing. And your advocacy is misusing this website which is intended to create a community of m11x users who want to discuss legal uses for the device. Read the terms of use.

Emulators don't have to be illegal, but this one defintely is and is without a doubt used by some people to steal from other people. It emulates a very popular, current device; not some obsolete hard to find old device.

Some of you say you feel justified because you own legit copies of the software and/or hardware. But that claim is has to be evaluated in the context that you are completely willing to violate the law for your own convenience.

i don't even have the emulator, nor have I ever used it. My point is, get off your soap box with internet righteousness. Secondly I never suggested anyone to download or do anything illegal.

And running a SNES emulator along with owning a copy of the game is completely legal.

That and my integrity is not in question here. I haven't pirated a single game in recent memory. In fact I own 3 copies of Fallout and Vegas between the PC and the PS3. Some people gleam power from the anonymity of the internet because they have no authority over their daily lives. Or maybe they write parking tickets and need to feel secure in pointing out discrepencies to other people.

On a side note, I do disagree with some laws and leaders of these Corporate United States.

I have no desire to talk about piracy here. i didn't start this thread..but I don't have to accept breaking the law and harming the gaming industry as just a-ok.

I disagree with some laws too. i even condone some acts of civil disobediance. But not for the sake of convenience or cheapness.

This thread is about a Gamecube/Wii emulator, not an SNES emulator. However, I doubt you're correct that an SNES emulator can actually be used legally. Where has Nintendo given up their copyright for SNES roms and games ? Fair use doesn't include the right to copy/adapt software created for one device to run on a different device.

And people use BitTorrent to legally download Linux distros. /s

What is "legal" and what is "permissible discussion topic on these [private] forums" are two totally separate categories.

You can claim legality all you want. But what matters here are forum rules, and the discretion of forum mods. Be respectful of that.

Forum rules - review them if you are new to NBR.

With that, I believe this thread has reached a closing point...
